You're assuming that the Athlon can be run as a multi-processor machine, which it currently can't.
Intel's got the x86 smp market sewn up right now, but it'll only be a matter of months until smp K7's are available. So THEY say anyways... a whole lotta potential there...
Well let's see, we have a total of three e-mails quite probably from three different people in three different groups who probably don't know what the others are doing anyways. Oh yeah, and it's on tom's site, not trusted since sometime in '98. This does smell quite dubious indeed. Does anyone honestly expect that a company is going to change a strategic decision within six hours of a random occurance/ (according to tom) slew of e-mails? Anyway I'm not planning on making a move to the K7 (I've been calling it the damn K7 for almost a year now, no need to stop) until they have both copper and smp out the door so it doesn't much matter to me.
I sat down last week and had it up and running within 20 minutes, including relocating the box after testing. Run faxsetup, add your clients to/var/spool/fax/etc/hosts and make sure faxgetty is running, 'faxgetty ttySwhatever' even if you're only doing outbound faxes, they just seem to want to sit in the queue otherwise.
Yeah the whfc driver for the win clients is kinda funky, but it does works.
So because something was developed with 'malicious intent' it's bad, but a product that has the same capabilities and was developed by benign programming gnomes is fine, veriliy.
SMS used to be cheap, something like $20 per client or less compared to guys like Novadigm who're charging over $100 per client. And why wouldn't ms want to keep it that way, it makes software auditing for them that much easier.
BART doesn't even go as far south as SFO (yet and that took 25 years to start happening) much less silicon valley. If you're looking for a long commute you could always do the Muni to CalTrain to Redwood Shores if you wanted to work for Oracle that could run you upwards of two hours each way.

Ummm.... in the United States the burden of proof would be on Unisys.

Umm if you look at the Star Division homepage they've got that box in the bottom right hand corner that says StarOffice for Java.

Good luck.....

of course then there are just freaks like me whose girlfriend won't let them, uh I mean don't want a tv in their house.....
...or vulgar for that matter. This guy must not go to doctors much.
they fixed the bug that would cause it to hang and reset the system bios to the defaults. I kid you not...
