You should check out MusicStrands API. They have a service to publish recommendations and song and artist info and a bunch of other free web services.

I've not used it yet, but they say it's the same API that the entire MusicStrands service is based on.

try MusicStrands http://www.musicstrands.com/. It has a cool Instant Recommender, that works with iTunes and WMP to give recommendations while you listen to songs. It also let's you upload your iTunes and WMP playlists to the service, and then gives you recommendations based on all the tracks. It's also got THE BEST community tools. If you're like me, I prefer to get recommendations from other real life people.
