Apple without Steve Jobs Microsoft without Steve Ballmer
I'm not saying anything about these particular stocks, but you get the idea. The post of research director in Specialty Chemical (e.g. Biotech, Pharmceutical) companies is even more critical.
Also, what happens when eeveryone uses the same approach? Any competitive advantage your investing strategy goes away.
Was anyone else bothered by the ads on that site? That has to be one of the worst content/ad ratios I've ever seen.
Each article had to have maybe 2 sentences of code, and the rest was covered in blinking ads or google ads.
Back in the late 80's and Early 90's, I ran a 300+ member strong Mac User group at a well known computer research institution... I'm a fan, but I'm not a fool.
As much as I like the MacBook and OS X, my Dell Inspiron 8000 w/Dapper is just as functional, if not more so, for my needs. I can't justify shelling out $1300 for something marginally better, even if that means I have to replace the drive on my laptop in the next year for ~ US$60.
This makes the fatal assumption that these are sales that would have taken place without iTunes.
I'd bet that the iTunes sales are in addition to, rather than substituting for, CD sales. If the customers couldn't get the product from iTunes, they'd steal it.
I'd love to see how the approach calculates:
Apple without Steve Jobs
Microsoft without Steve Ballmer
