I guess 30 days simply isn't enough time to discover the multitude of OS X resources, and software sites. A couple that I've used through the years, and have helped me find some fantastic software are:
All of the above sites list a multitude of software ranging from commercial, to as-free-as-can-be. I wouldn't expect anyone to find every single program they need within 30 days, as 14 years later, I'm still discovering fantastic Mac apps. Take what you read with a grain of salt. Just because one person doesn't see something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
