The company I work for blocks access to gmail.com as they deem it "personal email."
However, blocking emails that come from gmail's servers is just plain stupid. Many people, some of whom may be interested in jobs at your father's company, use gmail as their primary email address. By blocking them you also risk blocking many legitimate email communications.
I work for a major international food and beverage company. We are planning a vista migration from XP SP2 within the next two years. However, we are not renewing our corporate windows licensing, but rather acquiring many keys with each new computer that we order now. By the time we roll out Vista, we will have about 27,000 keys.
