It will do very little to nothing. The Ageia and CPU physics are performed in main system memory so the game can interact with them and they can interact back with the game. The physics on the GPUs exist only superficially in the GPU memory so only the GPU, not CPU, can interact with them individually or tell them what to do. All the CPU and game can do is tell the GPU which areas to push, pull, modify, spawn or kill them and how they behave, but the CPU can't look up individual objects and their positions.
I would like to see them working in harmony - the GPU can process thousands upon thousands of simple effects objects such as smoke, perhaps fluids, particles, and debris ( things that the player and game objects wouldn't collide with ) while pre-broken things that the player and game objects must interact with will be done in system memory. In both situations, the more power the better.
I would argue that those who cap human desire with religion fill their mind with answers to the great question of "Why?" to get through their lives.
Take a person who believes there is a greater being who created us, and asks only that we worship/believe in him for eternal salvation and, at death, we will know and have opened before us the universe in all it's wonder. Then take a person who believes when he dies, he becomes null, and he simple ceases to exist. All that awaits him is death.
I would argue the latter person would want to know all he can - venture as far as possible and strive in life - as opposed to adhere to religion waiting to die for the answers to become known in an afterlife.
You, sir, earn an e-cookie.
It seems as though every time a species becomes extinct, when the cause can be slightly connected to industry and/or human intervention, it is made public and everyone frets. I think that a vast majority of the people on this planet think the world is limited to maybe 200 species, and every time one dies it's like the world is decaying. There are, however, millions of species, and new species are constantly developing and, yes, dieing naturally ( and if you consider humans unnatural, than sometimes unnaturally ). In fact, the death of these dolphins may open up breeding grounds for new fish to mutate in and bring about new species.
And yes, if the species had been of a water slug, no one would care. Cute is always a plus in the entertainment industry.
Perhaps it isn't like announcing it so much as telling the owner.
What if the person finds the flaw, then simply contacts the owner of the website/hardware store and tells them there is a problem?
Posting a link to someone else's website is a form of freedom of speech. What if I walked to the nearest bank and started talling people about a drug dealer I know? They can't arrest me. I am speaking freely. They SHOULD arrest the dealer. The problem with online gambling is that that "dealer" isn't in their jurisdiction, so they have to punish anyone who relates to that person IN their jurisdiction.
If High Times was jsut telling people about thoes drug dealers, then the government couldn't do anything. People could try to sue and the company would never be allowed to do it, but the government can't stop them unless they are involved with the drugs being traded. Talking about a drug dealer's location IS NOT ILLEGAL. If there was a nuclear bomb in L.A. and only you knew where it was, as long as they can't prove you planted and did it, they can't punish you for it.
At least they shouldn't. Then again we all know that people sue over the darndest things and because of other stupid judges and people, thoes lawsuits go though.
Anyways this country is founded on the freedom of action, believe it or not. The government is designed to keep one person from hurting another. It is NOT the job of the government to:
Protect someone from themself (because really no one should be authorized to condemn another person and say that other poerson is too "funny" to speak for themself)
Protect someone from being hurt BEFORE they get hurt. It is a common idea that the government should ban things that could be used to hurt others. This is stupid. It leads to bans of things like: Guns, Switchblades, Brass Nuckles, Bulldogs, More than 3 Dogs, Chemicals, Fertilizers, Video Games, Movies, Music, Writing, and eventualy, what do you know... we aren't so "free" anymore.
The government isn't there to ban. It is there to punish ONLY IF SOMEONE HURTS SOMEONE ELSE DIRECTLY.
Sadly no one will ever catch onto this so I just see us as another Rome. Et tu, America?
