>>Mach has only seen limited maintenance over the last few year.
ummm, what about Apple's Darwin? which is based on the Mach3.0 micokernel? I realize that Apple is not a huge company, but that still seems like more than limited maintenance to me.
yes, nitrous oxide. You're just pumping more oxygen into the engine to combust with the fuel.
>I would be nervous about inhaling something more >explosive than gasoline fumes at the dentist.
you breath oxygen all the time, and you should see how explosive that is.:) I seem to remember links here to some one vaporizing a grill with liquid oxygen.
Most of those subsidy programs were not intended for people just living on the coutry side. They were intended for farmers, and farming families. Loopholes allow others to get in on the savings they don't need. The operating costs of a midsized family farm are enormous. Rural subsidy programs are needed for for those that work the land, not those that just live on it.
Here's a keen idea for an input device, use just your thumb, but use that Quickwriting layout that was talked about for the PlamPilot a few articals down. Hold your finger together and touch them as surface, and slide around like they said in that artical. None of this tapping business. And possibly faster, atleast it seems so just playing with it here.
yeah,./ must have eatten the angle brackets. the line with while should have lessthan and greaterthan inside of the (). which there is no way to enter in./'s current setup. (i think)
At first glance I have to say it looks rahter cool. But I'm not sure I'd want one. Having a simple multi-tool is nice when you're out somewhere and can't get anything else. But when it comes down to it, having the single correct tool always beats any mutli-tool that will be ever made. The multi-tools are just something to carry in your pocket for quick little jobs.
So you need to keep some kind of balance. Some pliers and a knife (or something like original leatherman) for those just-gotta-do-this-quick type jobs, and a toolbox full of real tools for serious work.

Actually, five. If you're not scared of getting code from a cvs tree, look into gfs.

> And what's this strange North American habit of pronouncing # as pound?? £ is a pound sign. # is a hash!!!!
My understanding is that many older computers had the £ above the 3, but then switched to #, but name stuck somehow. (but I am guessing here)
Get rid of nfs. There are much better ways of distributing filesystems out there. Like GFS. http://www.globalfilesystem.org
