It's funny, my dad is an engineer and is completely clueless about computers.
I've been building PCs for myself and my family for 12 years (I'm 24 now). Given that I live several states away from my parents, tech support has gone from the "Come over and have diner" to "Let's try to get you on the phone for 2 hours".
After the first call, I've since said that anything over 30 minutes a day gets billed, given that I work a good 9-10 hours plus 2 hours of driving on top of that. Since I did that the calls are much friendlier, and they have actually paid me when they thought it appropriate.
