  1. transportation isnt the important factor on P2P News Syndication? · · Score: 1

i think the p2p part really isnt all that important.
what would be needed to bring the whole news (and discussion) thing to a new level is a standard format (think xml file) in which stories/comments/moderations are posted for everyone to download ... with signature of course.
the method of transportation really isnt that much of an issue. ppl can shove it around anyway they want. this is more or less what i mean (friend of mine wrote it) :

Best would be if they just integrated it in the sequel somehow
like they did with Manic Mansion.
They could keep on doing this for every release ... now that would be neat.

But only governmental patent protection gave them the time to build a brand.
without the protection, competition could just
sell the same stuff shortly afterwards and with no money spent on r&d they could spend a lot more
    on marketing.

so research would sure suffer ...
They'd scream loudly for governmental protection

I think what you are saying here is based on a (common?) misconception about selfishness.

You always do what makes you feel good. What makes you selfless is that you feel good about
    something you dont benefit from.
Selfish would be when you only feel good about
    things that benefit you.

The good feeling is your judgement of the action
    not its benefit.
