Well I didn't expect any. I guess this is the wrong place. I've decided to learn "the basics" of all aspects of math, physics, and technology. Looking into this, I've discovered manifolds--something I'll look into more. Maybe it'll be as cool as complex numbers!
Some of these much-slower latency discs should catch up and overtake hard-disks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_Versatile _Disc mentions "a demonstrated maximum of 3.9 TB for 3 micrometer separation on a 12 cm disc."
Finally we can start backing up our entire hard disks. Even these new ones!
Does somebody posessing some bits on a computer equal somebody who posses plans to blow me up? Obviously a crime went into the making of the file. But it's quite easy to have stuff on your hard disk that you didn't knowingly download. Should a nasty video that happen to got downloaded with something else make you a criminal?
So certain bit patterns make one a felon?
That analogy is already true in trivial cases like tic-tac-toe. The simple minimax algorithm (invented by Dr. Min Irving Max) will be a perfect player "on it's own".
Probably would. Try the summer of code and puzzle championship as well. All recruiting tools for google. And don't get suckered by people trying to discourage competition (lots of those around). Give them all a try!
The singularity will sort that out quite well. I figure most of the corporate "psychopaths" (as other posters have noted) are conservative enough to not cross over in the first few waves. That leaves them at the mercy of the real gods--gods of technology who will take utter power soon.
Microsoft just released the Intel OS X Windows Movie player. Microsoft has had a long relationship making applications for the Macintosh. If they want to fight, that's fine. Just take what you need.
I think it's IBM working on something insanely large for tapes. 10+ TiB.

I don't think that's a typo. It's certainly not about lightbulbs. Dunno what internet you're using.

Wow, I come up with kick-ass ideas that lead to a shorter project time--and I get let go sooner! Where do you work???
Both elegant AND practical. Would love to see that here.

That does the programming? In a few years, a bot will clean up this type of thing much like a forklift cleans up at a weightlifting competition.

Later on they mention that it still requires a human to examine. I think both problems can be solved with automated pattern-based checking.

Well I download it from Microsoft.
It's the components for QuickTime. I don't think they make the standalone player anymore.
