First, it was Townes Van Zandt that coded the song "Pancho and Lefty", it being gpl'ed Willie Nelson(with Merle Haggard) sang it to popular appeal,(aka- their distro sold more).
Second, M$ has Corel Linux in it's back pocket, seeing as it works and has a seamless(Corels propoganda!) integration into an M$ network, with M$ giving it a few protected tweaks they could make money from Linux without putting the M$ brand on it, even if it does mean dealing with kanucks. **************************************** *********
How about ftp? It works, you can save multiple copies and it is backed up and protected. I have not lost any data from an isp since a crash at a small isp in '95. Most os' have some sort of ftp program (yes even MicroShaft WindBlows). I use it daily, I no-longer have to carry around 10 pounds of cds and disks, as i put everything i need somewhere that it is available to me via an internet connection. At a college this should be very easy, even if you must instruct lUsers on how to use the gui ftp program... ********************************************* ****
You are all missing the point. This is a reason for actually having a quake server running on a highpowered university sponsored multi-processor server... finally the pointy-headed fellows are actually worth something...:-P ********************************* ****************
While using Linux, if I get homesick for Windhoze, I change to the gnome desktop, and after a few minutes it crashes; I feel sated, it's like Win98 all over again except without that grimy feeling....
there is something 'mindless,' 'isolating,' 'lonely' and 'arrogant' about being a government bureaucrat too but they still keep lining up and doing it... Gee, drive to washington to get some data "or" login via my T1, get a life so the rest of us can have a break. (Maybe he works for Ellison?)

Beat Farmers (w/Buddy Bleu), Wierd Al, Los Lobos, Jerry Jeff Walker, anything they play on KPIG... it helps to clear the thought processes
