I own a tablesaw and have seen this "safety feature" for years. Fo me it would cost too much to replace the brake and blade every time. I would be more like $300 and not the cost of the saw, most table saws are $1500 plus. I don't cut my fingers, I cut wood, lots of time it is green wood and this triggers the brake. not much ggod and then it would get bypassed.
To the person waing for anti kickback mechanisms, try a Merlin splitter, they have a model to fix most table saws and they work every time and are easy to remove for dados and such.
