  1. quite frankly.... on Shut Down Metallica, Not Napster · · Score: 1

...if it weren't for the fact that i've downloaded mp3's of....certain groups....i would never have known that i liked them! but i listened to the mp3's, decided the bands were cool, and have bought & am going to buy a lot of their CD's. mp3's don't take away from artists! they ultimately lead to their gain. anyone remember those "negative profits" that mp3 pirates stole from the music industry? you'd think that anything that ends up getting you MORE money would be welcomed, not hunted! just my 2 cents..

wow. sounds like it's time to wax up the surfboard & head over to the east coast to catch the waves!

  3. affordability? on First Privately Funded Manned Space Mission · · Score: 1

hm...a privately funded mission? you'd think that with the russian economy doing so poorly as it has been, that hardly anyone would have money to fund so expensive a venture...

  4. it's true though on Sleep Deprivation Increases Brain Activity · · Score: 1

I've found that when I'm working on schoolwork, whether it be projects, essays, or studying for a test....I don't study well early on in the evening, but when I hit around 2, 3AM, I get a burst of energy, and I'm suddenly able to study a lot more and cram a lot more into my brain..
Also, I've found that when I'm up to say, 5 AM and get up again at 7 AM, I'm a lot more active in my classes, and I basically run on adreniline all day...wheras when I go to bed at 2 and get up at 7, I tend to fall asleep in class. =P
    At any rate...just my 2.. :)

  5. first amendment rights? on Bills to Restrict Campus Internet Access · · Score: 1
frankly i don't see what we have to worry about from this republican. students in college are 18+; they are full adults. they can vote, they can enroll in the army and sacrifice themselves for the country should we go to war.
and i would hope that most people understand that college students are not children. they're on their own. the fact that they can vote demonstrates that they are trusted to be able to make THEIR OWN decisions on what's right, and on what's wrong.
since they can make their own decisions--why do they need some grumpy old, stuffed-shirt politician to do it for them?
not to mention the first amendment rights that it violates. freedom of speech--freedom to peaceable assemble--these are violated by restricting internet access (a means of speech) and by restricting co-ed visitations to dorms (a means of peaceable assembly, even if it be only a few people for a party or whathaveyou).
    in short..it'll never happen.
