A reevaluation of one of Stanley Miller's unpublished experiments on the origin of life has shown that 22 amino acids rather than 5 would were formed in the volcano apparatus he used to model the conditions that existed on Earth some four billion years ago. This should increase estimations of f[l] (the fraction of the average number of planets that can potentially support life per star that has planets that actually go on to develop life at some point).
Outside of any implications on Drake's Equation, the study solves a significant piece of the puzzle on the origin of life.
