I was gonna try this...
I was going to load up Outlook Express and use that to convert everything to OE format and then use my new Mac to then transfer it all over. Seems kind of overly complicated, but whatever works! Note: I have't tried it yet, but I can't see it not working.

Re:adjustable pretties
wow, spoken like a true troll who's probably never run OS X. With about $600 you can put together an 800mhz g4 that i guarantee would run faster than a PIII 700 anyday.
If you knew anything at all about OS X, you'd also know that it offloads all the visual interface processing to the graphics card, thus leaving the cpu free for processing which would make it even faster than your windows 2k desktop. since it's a g4, an 800 mhz machine will run comparable to an intel 1.6ghz. -
Re:Bookless OS X Hacks
This book is going to teach me how to abUSE my new custom Mac compatible PC.

HE'S USING PAYPAL!!!! **RUN AWAY**He's using Paypal to accept payments!!!!
http://www.2khappyware.com/order/And this is after thousands of people have complained about losing millions to paypal:
http://www.paypalsucks.com/If you give him money DO NOT expect to recieve a system. From paypalwarning.com
"Merchants finding themselves on the wrong end of a frozen Paypal account will still have to find some way to pay their obligations and fill orders for the weeks and months while the account is restricted. A domino effect occurs when a merchant's account is frozen, leaving them with no means to fill orders. Those orders are then disputed by customers, creating more chargebacks and the illusion of fraudulent activity on the part of the merchant."What this means is WHEN PAYPAL FREEZES HIS ACCOUNT, HE WILL NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO PURCHASE MERCHANDISE TO BUILD YOUR SYSTEM, so in the end you'll be out hundreds of dollars with no system, and he'll be flat broke and probably jailed for alleged fraud.
And if you don't think this really happens think again. Just go read the forums at PaypalSucks.com and you'll realize Paypal routinely steals money from users and nothing can stop them.
sad, isn't it?

Re:Hmmm.Apparently you didn't read the company story. If you did, you would realize that the original goal was to get a mac that didn't come bundled with a specific monitor, etc., so you could mix and match the system as you see fit. As stated in the linked page:
just didn't like that if I wanted a 21" monitor and wanted to purchase Apple Macintosh, I needed to put down $1699.99 regardless if all I wanted to do was surf the web, check e-mail or purchase off ebay with a larger monitor and low cost processor like in the iBook or iMac.

Re:Just Buy OS X and get it over with.
Check out these systems:
CoreCrib and CoreBox
I don't work for them or anything, my buddy just ordered one of their CoreCrib Macs, it's supposed to ship tomorrow, he said.
Basically, they're a genuine Apple motherboard stuck in a custom case with a custom power supply, and sold at a really low price. Just buy yourself a G4 CPU, a few sticks of RAM, an IDE drive, and you're in business, with an OS X capable machine for far less than Apple's insanely priced PowerMacs.
I'm really anxious to see him get that machine, if it all works out for him, I'll be ordering one for myself next! -
The iBox
Not only is there interest in a Mac clone, these guys are in the process of getting systems together to ship.
According to a recent message by John Fraser (co-creator of the iBox) on the Think Secret message board, these systems will made available for pre-order in about 2 weeks. -
Move along, folks, nothing to see here...
Apple has NOTHING to worry about from young Mr. Fraser. As discussed in the article, Fraser said he doesn't have any grand plans for building the iBox business into the next Dell or Gateway. "I'm not doing it for profit," he said. "I'm doing it for a hobby.
On the contrary, those who purchase these systems could be in for some serious headaches if they ever need tech support. I can't see Mr. Fraser being able to take his hobby seriously if he's personally getting phone calls from nebie users in Dallas, Topeka, and Seattle. Don't get me wrong, I wish Mr. Fraser much happiness and little frustration in his hobby. He has very little hope (and, it appears, no desire) to make this in any way a threat to Apple's business model.
Apple's best strategy in this case is to ignore the close and 2khappyware give a real-world example of the differences between a small-time clone and a bona fide Apple.

DesignWell, I'm no expert on design exactly. But to me it looks pretty decent
It looks like they managed to make it look like..original..With a dual CPU capable MB this could become a winner
