Corporate Nazis in State Capitals
States Rights are just about the only Constitutional thing protecting normal states from the corporate nazis in Washington DC.
And enabling the corporate nazis in the state capitals who are vassals of ALEC:
Through the secretive meetings of the American Legislative Exchange Council, corporate lobbyists and state legislators vote as equals on ‘model bills’ to change our rights that often benefit the corporations’ bottom line at public expense. ALEC is a pay-to-play operation where corporations buy a seat and a vote on ‘task forces’ to advance their legislative wish lists and can get a tax break for donations, effectively passing these lobbying costs on to taxpayers.
Along with legislators, corporations have membership in ALEC. Corporations sit on ALEC task forces and vote with legislators to approve “model” bills. They have their own corporate governing board which meets jointly with the legislative board. (ALEC says that corporations do not vote on the board.) Corporations fund almost all of ALEC's operations.
Participating legislators, overwhelmingly conservative Republicans, then bring those proposals home and introduce them in statehouses across the land as their own brilliant ideas and important public policy innovations—without disclosing that corporations crafted and voted on the bills.
ALEC boasts that it has over 1,000 of these bills introduced by legislative members every year, with one in every five of them enacted into law. ALEC describes itself as a “unique,” “unparalleled” and “unmatched” organization. We agree. It is as if a state legislature had been reconstituted, yet corporations had pushed the people out the door.

ALEC at work.
When you see state laws like this that propagate throughout the states and usually supported by Republican politicians throughout the states you can attribute it to ALEC ALEC is a forum where conservative politicians and big business and interest groups rub together and create legislation (model legislation) for the benefit of those big businesses and interest groups.

Re:ALEC
Could you give more details about that?

Re:How do they do it?
Sounds great until the government run bank has to decide which risky business to provide a business loan to; your ability to get money might depend on wheter you are part of ALEC or which party you belong to, or which campaign you donated to. Moreover, the current banking system is quite efficient, so much so that a fair amount of the rest of the world uses it. It's the improperly regulated trading markets where things are out of hand, but traditional banking really has nothing to do with that.

Re:Will Zimmerman get justice?
That and the lead officer -- an experienced homicide detective -- was about to arrest Zimmerman for manslaughter when a state's attorney (a political position) overrode him because the state's Republican administration had a vested political interest in preserving the 'Stand Your Ground' law. "Stand Your Ground" was one of many reactionary conservative initiatives crafted by the American Legislative Exchange Council, a shadowy group that brings together corporate henchmen with conservative lawmakers from all levels of government to create 'wishlist' legislative agendas. I think people were also outraged that, despite having his cel phone, the cops waited three days to contact Trayvon's parents while his body lay in the morgue and that Zimmermann ignored explicit instructions from the 911 operator not to follow Martin but, instead, took a loaded handgun and went after him -- an act that the Republican sponsor of the 'Stand Your Ground' law said negated any protection from prosecution under its standards. http://www.alecexposed.org/wiki/ALEC_Exposed

Re:Collusion doesn't work
Yeah that's right, when someone points out what libertarianism is, has been and what it actually advocates with the rhetoric of the "limited government, maximum liberty" pulled out of airy fairy land where they like to keep it, you act as though someone has aggrieved you in some particularly outrageous way. On top of everything else, you're a thin-skinned bunch with an exaggerated sense of entitlement to nearly everything on the earth, including respect for your planet-destroying deregulatory policies.
In fact, what libertarians are is pathological liars. You just told me and everyone else that libertarians are "centrist" and "moderate". What exactly are they centrist about? Because last I knew centrist was sort of a mid-point between extremes. In fact your party is defined as nothing BUT extremes in personal ( I can choose not not serve *niggers* if I damn well please ! You should be able to sell yourself into indentured servitude if that's what you decide to do! ) and corporate "liberty" , which is another name for environment destroying de-regulatory policies and social Darwinism.
. Somehow you think that advocating extremes in both corporate lawlessness and personal predatory, anti-social behaviour necessarily constitutes some form of "centrist" position irrespective of real world consequences.
Tell us again how libertarians are against Big Business when your party ran billionaire and budding mass-murderer David fucking Koch as it's vice-presidential candidate in 1980, from which position he advocated for all the "centrist moderate" positions we all can feel good about, you know, things like the abolition of the FBI, the abolition of the CIA , the abolition of public schools , the abolition of social security etc etc.

Oh and all of your "think tanks" - the Cato Institute, the Reason Foundation, the Fraser Institute , the Heritage Foundation are ALL funded by Exxon Mobil and right wing ideologues with the last name of
.. whoa, what's this? "Koch" who also happens to be , whoa what's this?? Reason' Foundation's trustee while the rest of its officers, guys like Mike Flynn, are in a revolving door relationship with "centrist" organizations like ALEC who ran the "centrist" "global warming Ted Kaszinsky / Charles Manson" billboard .http://alecexposed.org/wiki/ALEC_Exposed
and the rest is chock to the gills with former Big Tobacco / cancer science deniers .

Yeah , libertarians are "centrist moderates" all right. Well, either that or they're Machiavellian psychopaths who see their holy ends as justifying any means whatsoever, especially the means of systematically and knowingly lying about who they are and what they represent.
Hey! How do you know when a libertarian is lying? His lips are moving.

Re:Since when can Facebook pass laws?
``It is the job of legislators to both draft and pass laws - facebook can do neither.''
Uh... ever hear of ALEC?

Re:Rewrite the Constitution or face default!
That is your political slanted view of the issue.
Others views are different, you need to stop reacting and learn to listen carefully to both sides...
Those Tea Party (while may have rooted and contain ultra conservative members) are not trying to threaten the lives of those people but see it as more a "Tough Love" aspect to many of these groups. They feel that a lot of these people especially the poor, are on welfare and not working because welfare makes it too easy for them not to work, and by getting rid of it, it will force them to go out and work to survive. Not as much punishing the poor but making incentives to get off their butt and do something. Now I don't particularly follow that view but I do understand it.
Also I find that the Liberal Parties are often the first to point out that any sort of cuts will effect social services that government provides as to rally the people against those EVIL republicans while for most of them they want a cut in government spending and not necessarily in direct social services, it is the liberal party who decides that is where the cuts should be.
Look at say your local government when they propose to keep school takes the same while costs rise. The Liberal parties will state how many teacher will be laid off, vs. Keeping the School Bus that has some rust on it for an other year, or cutting the Vice Principals Secretaries Assistants.
Both parties are evil. Why do we elect people if all they do is just follow the party line? If that is all they do they are useless we should just vote for a Party Line, hire 2 lawyers to interpret those party lines. And when an Issue comes up, based on the percentage of votes you can determine if it will pass or not. If it is in direct conflict of a party line 2/3 of the opposing party line will be needed to pass. If it is in the gray zone the majority party line will win, If the problem doesn't fit into either party line, it gets passed easily.
We need to elect people who do not follow the party line as a rule, we need people who can lead and see if their party line view may not work in the case and make their vote... And their party shouldn't punish people who had made such a decision. .When you are talking about costing people their jobs and cutting their monthly checks yes that is threatening their lives.
You can't really get much more direct than this. How would you feel if Obama's Admin personally threatened your job because of politics? And that is not the only way the Tea Party is threatening lives. They also support the prison industrial complex. Read their plans: http://www.alecexposed.org/wiki/Guns,_Prisons,_Crime,_and_Immigration

How long before civil war breaks out in America?
Everything seems to empower the Tea Party. Every court ruling, every law passed, even after the US government defaults this would also benefit the Tea Party.
When are we going to accept that the Tea Party is a domestic terrorist group that fantasizes about having another civil war?
Their policies are straight from the old south. The for profit prisons, which mean prisons are now the new plantations where corporations can have the cheapest possible labor force. These corporations also write our laws. Check out ALEC exposed to see the whole plan. After the US defaults the Tea Party is planning to blame Obama. Now they have the legal justification to threaten Obama's life in their attempts to overthrow him. It seems like a disaster waiting to happen with the looming default, and coming economic crisis as the trigger point.
