Re:More Marketing
This is a hilarious comment considering the Recent Sony Blogs
Now, I understand that astroturfing is pretty common nowadays, but I think it's useless. With informed consumers being a larger and larger segment of the buying populace, hype will be replaced with at least some substance.
The Zune is a failure because it can't compare, specs or price-wise, to the iPod. The PS3 has a tremendous up-hill battle because we can see the comparisons with the xbox360, and Sony loses on so many levels. -
Astroturfing
It already has a name. It's called Astroturfing.
Now we need to come up with a term for what will eventually prove to be its opposite. Corporate sabotage that seeks to inspire negative propoganda for another company. If Sony hadn't been repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot with a sawed-off 12 gauge lately and inspiring all their own negative publicity, I'd almost suspect that of their vomit-inducing attempt at creating buzz for the PSP. -

You had me at "really cute chick"
It took some digging, but here's the direct link so others won't waste 4 min of their life, like me.

Did Sony release the symbols to public domain? In the "blog" Sony paid for (and condoned) is the following:
don't just wear it - pwn it!!1!
No terms. No requirements. No restrictions. No demands. No disclaimers. Anyone who understands "pwn it!!1!" can easily claim that Sony paid a company to expressly promote and authorise the free use of any and all trademarked symbols, none of which display a trademark symbol in the PDFs, for their own purposes regardless of what they might be. That is pwnage.<pictures snipped>
step 1: download the iron-on patterns sheet
step 2: print
step 3: cut out pieces you want on your t
step 3: iron on
step 4: wear it like u mean it -
Re:It's called Marketing
I don't know about anyone else but if I'm going to have someone lying to my face I'd rather they actually make it believable.
So alliwantforxmasisapsp.com isn't obvious enough for you? How about the following quote from said website:
consider us your own personal psp hype machine, here to help you wage a holiday assault on ur parents, girl, granny, boss - whoever - so they know what you really want.
Nope, I guess that's definitely a hormone raging teenager who really really wants a PSP. The scary thing is that statement resembles many fanboy comments on slashdot, but that's all I'm going to say about that.

Re:What is going on?
Ugh, I don't know how people could go to this website ( http://www.alliwantforxmasisapsp.com/ ) and -not- understand that it's a huge marketing scam. An obvious over-usage of '1337', obviously intentional misspellings, and very direct marketing material.
