paypal
I also run a small online company that uses PayPal almost exclusively for its payment system. So far I've generally been happy. However, the one email I sent to customer service took a full month to get a response. Phone support was better, however the reps didn't seem like they were too knowledgeable. Needless to say, I'm a little bit wary of having so much money in my account, so I can only suggest sweeping the funds to a real bank account on a regular basis...

HopefullyHopefully it has better security than the other BINDs, which, from numerous comments I've overheard, is notoriously prone to exploits. Does anyone know what functionality has been added to this release, or is it mostly bug fixes and stability improvements? Also, any word on the OpenBSD ports of BIND?
By the way, Eric Sun, who submitted this story, runs a great domain registrar called Alphapython. I can't even begin to express how happy I've been with their service, and their pricing is great, too. If you get a chance and need high-quality, affordable domains, check them out.

Re:Maybe I just don't get it...
Ooops bad link, sorry. AlphaPython is here instead.

Re:Maybe I just don't get it...I use PayPal to pay for (heh) my domain registrations!!! through AlphaPython, and it has worked extremely well so far. So as far as real-world acceptance, it is starting to occur and there are some pretty cool things happening with it. Hopefully it will snowball and become more commonplace.

Re:Location through software?
Still, not everyone in Canada has a
.ca address... for example, most (all?) of the .wave.home.com people are Canada.

I've found that the best place to register is http://www.alphapython.com/; they're not only cheap ($20/yr) but also provide great service as well.
