How much do they vary?
You make an assertion that there are "dramatic" changes in the text, but is that true?
Here is an example of analysis of the Great Isaiah Scroll from the Dead Sea scroll find. It dates to 200 B.C., only 500 years after Isaiah wrote the original and over one thousand years older than the previously used manuscript (used in the King James Version of the Bible).
Is that a "dramatic" change the closer you get?

Re:they will defeat themselves
"His worshippers like to attach labels to Him that aren't warranted."
Like "God", which is a generic term for any deity. While you are looking, El , Elohim, abba, avva, Lord, Father, and Allah are all titles and not his name, which he requires that you swear by. The YHVH misspelling of "the Name" is due to Pharisee rabbinic intervention (mans teachings) and is meant to hide the name that we are commanded to mention. ( You won't find it in that Septuagint flavored comic book, the King James, it appears only in the source code before translation and transliteration did obliteration, The Torah, that would be Pentateuch to you,and further in the Tanakh (mislabeled "Old Testament), but in the original Hebrew) Logical candidates for this name are "YaHoVah " (am, was, will be) "Yahweh" (Am or Exists) and it's variations. Pick one, do your best and quit spouting crap about creationism till you can actually read Bereshit (Genesis) in Hebrew.
Heres a crash quickie solution; http://www.ancient-hebrew.org/... Don't neglect to read the introduction before diving in.
Next Spoiler: There was NO ONE named Jesus, that's just Greek foobar for Yeshuah or Yehoshua (Am's Salvation)

Re:I think there's a lot of open road here.
You're in luck again, Jim.
I just happened to have a book link in my copy buffer, by mere coincidence, at this very moment from another conversation. I just know, I'm supposed to post it here for you, because of that. http://www.ancient-hebrew.org/... Is that not the most amazing feeling? It's even better news than you could dream of!
I never would have even known, had I not been curious about your sig. -
Re:frist
If they can have glyphs depicting astronauts ( here http://www.ancient-hebrew.org/ancientman/03_maya.html and here http://www.blingdomofgod.com/ancientmayandjpic.jpg for being a good sport) , they can have generators, gas guzzlers, pyramid scams, titty-bars and all mod conveniences and inconveniences. Falling civilization must be an enormous inconvenience for an up and coming Jai Ali star. Makes ya think, donut?

Re:Huh.
In other words:
"We've found life on Earth. We've found life on Earth."
(And we have not observed it "erupting" on its own. See rebuttals in other replies.)Because life was spoken into existence all over the Earth. It does not hold logically that there must be life all over the universe.
Which is, of course, consistent with major religions. 'God', aka 'The Universe', creates life 'in his image', aka 'of the universe'.
