    Actually, some people have devices in their vehicles that track payments made, remind you when one is due, and disable the vehicle if any payment is past due.

    Detroit will have to make some changes before the use of alternate fuels become wide spread.
    Ironically, it's "detroit iron" that makes up the majority of flexible fuel vehicles available in the U.S. If you look at that list, you'll notice that it's mostly made up of big sedans and trucks of the type that are only sold in the American market, and that the few "foreign" vehicles represented are almost all actually made by US companies! The "Isuzu" pickup is a clone of the Chevy S-10, the "Mazda" pickup is a clone of the Ford Ranger, and the Nissan Titan is only sold in the US (and built in Canton, Mississippi).

    In fact, the only E85-compatible vehicle sold in the U.S. that's not made in America is the Mercedes C-class (240 and 320)!

    Just combine it with this design allow it to seat 4, and as long as the fuel economy isn't attrocious, I'll drive it to work everyday.

    You jest but many Farrari's are exactly like that. Typical charge for changing the oil on an Enzo is around $1,000 because the oil is $60 a quart and you need 13 quarts per change. Even the somewhat more normal 360 Modena is expensive:

    "Oil changes run in the neighbourhood of $350 and are to be performed every 10,000 km. Why so expensive? Because the Ferrari only sips fine European synthetic oils, and because removing the underbody is required in order to gain access to the drains, and that takes a bit more time and care. " link
