A suggestion
My IT company uses Avalon Business Systems' Avalon Management Suite. It handles ticketing, asset tracking, and a whole lot more (client database, scheduling, accounting, vendor integration, etc.). It's all web-based and real-time. I'd highly recommend checking it out.

Avalon Management SuiteMy company uses the Avalon Management Suite. It's great to use for ticketing, scheduling, inventory, and pretty much everything else we use.
I'm only now looking into what ITIL is, but I'm pretty sure it supports that. Beyond that, it supports the LDAP requirement, it's easy to use, and it has a client login system. We've been very happy with it.

Avalon Business SystemsI've mentioned them before, but I'm still impressed by the Avalon Management Suite by Avalon Business Systems.
It's a web-based (AJAX?) management tool that my company uses to handle our scheduling, inventory, invoicing, CRM, etc. It's really slick, but useful (it reminds me a lot of GMail).
Really, web services like Avalon, GMail, and Flickr are coming along nicely. It's a lot nicer to be able to access your data and tools from anywhere than it would be to have to install software on a dozen computers.

Avalon Business SystemsMy company uses a CRM suite from Avalon Business Systems. We looked at a number of packages from Siebel, Microsoft, etc., but this one is the most flexible and easiest for our employees to use.
It also features some of the nicest AJAX I've seen.

Avalon Business SystemsMy small IT office uses the Avalon Management Suite from Avalon Business Systems. It's a complete productivity suite which might be overkill for you, but it has the best group-based calendar I've ever seen.
You can set up permissions so that you can create your own appointments, create others, or suggest others which are put into a "pending" approval queue. It's all web-based and sexy as hell.
I'm not sure how much it costs, but you can probably get just the features you want. I can vouch that pretty much every aspect of it is great.

Avalon Business SystemsMy favorite AJAX application is the Avalon Business Management Suite by Avalon Business Systems. We use it at work and it's by far the most intuitive and useful web app I've ever seen.
It's nice because it allows you to do real-time client (etc.) searches asynchronously which allows you to get a ton done with only one real page load.
I've seen some decent commercial and free AJAX implementations as well, but outside of Google and Avalon, they seem more focused on "cool" than "useful".

Avalon Business SystemsMy growing consulting business considered Oracle, Siebel, and other CRM suites but decided to go with Avalon Management Suite from Avalon Business Systems. It handles all of our contacts, invoicing, inventory, and more.
It way exceeded our expectations. It's a nicer web-based solution without all the bloat. Oh, and it cost us a fraction of what the other products would have.
