Re:Somebody didn't get the memo!
Funny that this just passed across my desk earlier today:
Molycorp Plummets on JP Morgan Price Target Cut
JP Morgan cited lower volumes and a recent rare earth price collapse as the key drivers behind their price target cut. Specifically, JP Morgan writes, âoeWe continue to believe MCP will likely have to seek additional capital beyond just a revolver and/or equipment leaseback.â
Until Thursday, Molycorp had been having a solid week. Shares rallied over 12 percent on Monday after the Chinese government cut its production quotas for rare earth metals.
In 2011 Molycorp stock was $75.
Today their stock is around $8. -
Re:one word
There's a difference between doing business, and killing the golden goose out of childish motive.
That goose isn't quite so golden anymore. Samsung has the upper-hand; and the time to strike is while the iron is hot. Samsung is right to go for the kill.

AMD needs some high profile support
If I were them, I would be kissing Tim Cook's ass so hard that he couldn't turn around without slapping me with his junk. AMD needs some high profile names to adopt AMD processors. I mean, they've always been kind of fringe players, but in this tablet/notebook/smartphone age, they've become more fringe than ever. They could easily turn it around with serious support from just one big player like Apple, Motorola, Samsung, Google, etc. But it doesn't seem to be happening. And every time AMD has tried to court a big name or even merge with one, they seem to come up short.
Maybe they should try sending flowers.

RadioShack on decline
If Tandy Training were so effective, then why does RadioShack continue to decline?

It's things like this
From the email Georgy sent out after the release of emails.
"The release of these emails is, however, a direct attack on Stratfor. This is another attempt to silence and intimidate the company, and one we reject. As you can see, emails sent to many people about my resignation were clearly forged.
We do not know what else has been manufactured. Stratfor will not be silenced, and we will continue to publish the geopolitical analysis our friends and subscribers have come to rely on. "Well possibly they were forged or maybe not.
If you go to their web page allegedly they are giving out all their "information" for free for a limited time, however what I see is nothing new or interesting and quite a bit of poorly written analysis (yes I know my writing sucks as well) after going through several of the articles I started wondering "what's the big deal about Stratfor?"
Decide for yourself:
Top 5 Stratfor Wikileaks Revelations (So Far)
http://www.policymic.com/articles/4833/top-5-stratfor-wikileaks-revelations-so-farAll sources are suspect but you can always get the torrent file with their emails (alleged emails)
http://wikileaks.org/the-gifiles.htmlMy advice is download them from a wireless cafe not your home IP, not sure what the legality is here and I am staying away from it.

Re:The sugar lobby is worse than oil company lobbi
If the sugar lobby is so powerful, why is HFCS used in everything instead?
Actually, the sugar lobby is directly to blame for the popularity of HFCS in American food.
They lobby for protectionist tariffs to keep sugar prices artificially high. As a result, sugar costs about twice as much inside the USA. And that's a big reason why we end up eating so much HFCS.

Re:I thought U2 had a stake
Don't know why you are being mod funny. The investment firm of Bono (elevation -something) actually has put a lot of money in Palm. http://www.benzinga.com/general/193399/bono-named-worst-investor-palm. Seems that elevation is quite relative!

Re:Ha! Russia.
China is in a leading position, but not in the G8 but has UNSC seat, economic power sure, but with problems just like or worse than the US has, but its bubble hasn't burst.
- so you think that China has a bubble economy then?
It's a currency bubble; the Chinese government is keeping the yuan artificially low vs. the dollar. Plus they're building bogus empty cities in the desert to prop up their GDP.
