Re:User lockout? When Microsoft abuses their position by threatening to increase vendor's Windows licensing costs if the Vendor offers competing products then that is user lockout and abuse of monopoly power.
Oh yeah, Pepsi actually did sue Coke for exactly that reason and won.

Re:i can see it now.....
Well, here in Canada at least, Pepsi Canada owns 7up Canada.

Re:"Grey water" is becoming a popular option.
At least in Britain, Dasani is tap water. Another article goes on to say that if the bottle doesn't say "source" or "spring", its probably tap water.
Now Dasani is not the same as Dannon. Coke struck a deal with France's Groupe Danone to distribute Dannon brand water. That's probably tap water. This is easier to read and shows Coke markets Evian as its premium water, Dasani in the middle, and Dannon at the bottom which sells for less than the market average.
I don't like San Diego water. I hate Los Angeles water, even though both are canal water from the concrete aqueduct. I don't care for Fremont, CA water either. Yet 25 miles north in Berkeley and Oakland, the water is great. Probably because that's where I grew up and lived until recently. San Francisco can keep its Hetch Hetchy water to itself as its also not very good. -
Re:Cry me a tune...Actually a few years ago Pepsi sued Coke for anti trust violations in the fountain soda market. Abusing a monopoly condition obtained through questionable business practices is bad for consumers in any market.

Re:The net was used on Sept 11...Milk is better for you than Coke, but which one sells more?
This surprised me. I know it's a rhetorical question, but in 2000, milk actually sold more, with 6.5 billion gallons, than Classic Coke, with 2 billion cases (two gallons/case). Coca-Cola soft drinks totalled sell more (4.3 billion cases) than milk, however. And like some other jerk pointed out, milk is probably not better for you than Coke. They're both pretty bad.

Important error in Adam Curry's story.
Adam said that Mc Donald's serves Coke, and Burger King serves Pepsi. Actually, Burger King used to serve Pepsi, but switched back to Coke in 1990. (Burger King also served Coke prior to 1983 when it first switched to Pepsi.)
Just thought it was important.
P.S. I know this for several reasons, one of which is that the Frozen Coke is the only reason I ever go to Burger King.
