Charles posted about jruby stepping into Sun on his blog, and Thomas posted his take too. Tim Bray, who started the ball rolling posted about the JRuby Love."

TypePad is having serious problems again today, the latest in a series of outages and malfunctions as it switches to a larger facility. Bloglines is also apologizing for performance problems, and says it too will move to a larger data center to accommodate growth. There's been no sign of a mass migration from either service. Are bloggers and blog readers willing to accept rocky performance from popular services?"

Perhaps AskJeeves will be able to legitimize itself again in the crowded search market by integrating Bloglines into its suite of products."

    Marc Hedlund writes "Bloglines, everyone's favorite RSS aggregator, changed the RSS world again today by releasing the Bloglines Web Services APIs. FeedDemon, NetNewsWire, and Blogbot will all be adding support for the APIs so that users can store their feed state on Bloglines, and read their feeds from any browser. I posted an article introducing the APIs, including a full three-pane desktop aggregator source code example, on the the O'Reilly site."

  5. Software Upgrade Crashes UK Air Traffic Control System

    pitpe writes "Earlier today the computer system controlling most of the UK's airspace failed, after tests in preparation for an upgrade failed. The original failure occurred at the West Drayton centre, which is an old (70's) system, as opposed to the new system at Swanage, which has had its own problems. A system wide reboot to fix the system resulted in the entire system being taken down temporarily."
