Re:apples to apples
the i3 comes with a internal combustion engine range extender, wonder what the efficiency drops to when that kicks in..
Care to show me the stats on the ICE range extender you speak of?
The range extender is an option. Maybe it is not offered in the US (although it is mentioned in reviews), but it is available in Germany: http://www.bmw.de/de/neufahrze...
It is a 2 cylinder engine which according to the BMW website increases the range to 300-340km total (about 200 miles).
2 cylinder engines were popular for motorboat outboards and jetskis. The industry switched to 3 cyl and 4 cyl because 2 cyl engines are less efficient and produce a greater amount of pollution. Granted, the electric engine reduces the total pollution amount, but still...
That being said, it does look like some research is being done to produce more efficient 2 cyl engines: http://www.technologyreview.co...

The Official BMW Rescue Manual

The automated roll bar deployment is a feature of some BMW covertibles only.
It uses springs. Not explosives.

Re:OT: bmw names
PDF containing the 318i. Ironically, it has a 2.0l engine (1995ccm, the same as the 320i, but the 320i produces more HP)

Re:OT: bmw names
I knew all that. It's the reason I chose BMW, because I knew it's a series 3, 1.8l engine versus 2.0l engine. You have to give the Germans that: their car model numbers do make a lot of sense. Well, most of the time anyway
;-)However, you'll have to explain me this. Both the 318 and the 320 are still in production (sure the i is there, but as you say it means "inline"... even though I though it stands for "injection"...)

Someone with brains anticipated jokes about 500 GB not being a bigi and put the bi denominator after the magnitude. She deserves a Bimer.

Re:who says you're looking for a dealership?
"If search for BMW I must be looking for a dealership?"
The example query I chose from the page of words they removed was
[bmw autohaus finden] = Find BMW dealership
On the page they blocked out was a bunch of phrases, when you arrived at the page you were redirected to the appropriate page on the BMW site. So [bmw autohaus finden] took you to the dealership finder for example.
"As to BMW's page full of graphics Google can't search, well, I didn't see the UN Convention on Human Rights talking about everyone's...If they use too many graphics for Google to be effective, then they have to take the consequences."
Let me help here, the only BMW dealership finder on the web [bmw autohaus finden] is
http://www.bmw.de/de/interaktiv/dealerlocator/inde x.html
and Google no longer finds it. Is that a bad consequence for BMW, or for Google and its users? -
Re:Although this seems "reasonable" in light of th
In BMW's case the doorway page contained the word "gebrauchtwagen" - meaning "used car" in German - over 40 times. The real home page, to which searchers were seamless redirected, only contained the word twice.
Interestingly the page Matt Cutts complained about in this post is now 404.

Mercedes-Benz in Europe
Hey sorry, but in "Old Europe" Mercedes Benz and all other brands like BMW, Porsche, Audi builds its cars custom made!
Try the Mercedes Benz Car-Configurator. Every configurable car can you buy at your local Mercedes Benz dealer.
That's the way cars are built in Europe!

Re: Thats the problem with the US (off-topic)
It is merely the word "horsepower" translated into french.
Yes, but is a French "ch"
.74 kW? I had the impression that German "pferdestarken" weren't equal to US/UK "horsepower" (although the BMW Germany technical data page for the car in question just lists kilowatts, so maybe pS aren't used any more).
