Re:Multiple displays since 1987
Yes, I have a little app (Secondbar) that duplicates the menubar on my second monitor. It works well, but not quite perfectly. Nice to see this finally supported at the system level.

Re:Been There
- Poor Multi-Monitor Support: Since the menu for each application is in a detached panel that is only displayed on one monitor, this means you will be racking up a lot of mileage on your pointing device to hop between apps on the secondary monitor and their menu on the primary monitor.
Yes, it's stupid that there's no option to display the menubar on both monitors.
SecondBar might be useful.
Another WTF since Lion: make an application fullscreen, and your other monitor is useless: it just displays a brushed metal background.

Re:Why?
... it's maybe the ONE thing I agree with Steve Jobs about -- touch does NOT work as a viable input method for a desktop.
He may have said that at some point, but you should know by now that Apple changes the kool-aid they serve every so often. He's even spoken at length about merging iOS concepts into the desktop OSX.
[trackpad literature snipped]
You do realize that a trackpad is not "touch" as in touchscreen, right? I use a MacbookPro with a magic trackpad, it's a whole lot more efficient than a mouse at numerous things. With things like BetterTouchTool, I can do even more.
The problem with "touchscreen" on a desktop is gorilla arm. Even an iPad with a keyboard is not very fluid... there's a reason that the MacbookTouch doesn't exist. Mouse/trackpad with keyboard has worked so well for so long for a very good reason.

Re:Flaming
I use a Mac and Win 7. There are some damn nice features that 7 has I wish my Mac would copy. Namely: snap to sides.
You can achieve this using both Cinch (shareware) and BetterTouchTool which does the same using only keybindings (free). I use both, as sometimes the keybindings and ALT+CMD is faster, while the drag is visually nice when doing demos.
Yes, I also doubt Apple would copy this, and do find the features useful.

This feature is in BetterTouchTool, which I recommend if you use a Magic Mouse or a mutlitouch trackpad on a Mac (even without the snap to side feature).

Re:I sold my magic mouse :O
I think the hardware is awesome but the drivers absolutely SUCK!
Just my 2c.
The driver Apple provides sucks, but that's why a third party developer is writing their own driver.
