jargon not found. not in the jargon file anyways
"To the best of my knowledge, Dennis Ritchie and Howard Trickey remain, enisled." Do you suppose the author was going for 'enlisted' or actually meant to use 'enisled', which is indeed a word, and possibly an apt, if not a little prosaic, one.

:-).Seriously, though, most great writers I know of consider grammer to be little more than a set of suggestions they vaguely remember learning in grade school.

<sarcasm> As much as I admire and respect BrainyDictionary.com </sarcasm>, the Oxford English Dictionary on my desk says that "gantlet" and "gauntlet" are spelling variations of the same word.
