    Pine is a text only web browser??? Gee, and all of this time I have been using it as an e-mail client. Perhaps you were mistaken, and are actually referring to Lynx. ~Cyberphreak

    what we need is an open source windows/*nix util that just allows cookies from certain sites. Then destroy them on close.

    This is precisely how lynx works. Too bad it doesn't handle tables or frames very well -- apart from that, and the lack of images, it's excellent.

    Yes and no - probably some bad code on the page. The text is there (the "complete story" link is just a pointer into the same page a bit lower), just doesn't get displayed.
    Use Lynx to access that page and you can read it.

    Use Lynx as your browser. It's super-fast, and Slashdot renders beautifully under it, especially the low-bandwidth version.

    Plus it doesn't crash as much as another browser that I could name.

    I don't see any legal problems with not displaying banner ads (although morally I'd like to help CmdrTaco out, just preferably not at 33k6). Are you claiming that the thousands of people who view Slashdot using Lynx (like me), W3M, Emacs-W3 or simply with images turned off are equivalent to cable service thieves?
