Corel CEO Charged with Securities Violations

Apparently trading of Corel stock was halted prior to the announcement. " The Corel booth at ALS has no comment at this time. The alleged current violations are insider trading, according to CBC. Canadian Post Office Moves Online in a Big Way

Although it is already possible to pay bills through many banks online, this is a new level of integration and convenience. I think this is an excellent example of an organization "reinventing" itself in order to survive and remain relevant in the near future." -
Microsoft Invests in Rogers
GRW wrote in with a link to a story about Microsoft investing in Rogers, Canada's largest cable company. The $600M (I'm assuming that's CDN) is meant to "change the way Canadians watch TV". Microsoft says Rogers will use "Microsoft's television platform". Is that CE, or something more general? -
MS: Sued, Falsifies Evidence and Contradicts self

" I try to avoid posting articles like this, but this is pretty significant-some of other sites are talking about perjury charges and such being brought against the lawyers. Additionally, another bit was sent to us by El pointed an article in which MS lawyers were contradicting themselves, as a MS patent claimed that Web browser are seperate from the OS. Lastly, the Canadian province of Alberta has decided to sue Microsoft, amongst others, for Y2k conversion costs-thanks to colonel for that one. -

Balloon Runs Awry
Tsu writes "A 50-story tall Canadian Research balloon that was supposed to land near my house lost contact with it's ground control and has drifted over the Atlantic and apparently poses a risk to aircraft. It was over my house four days ago... I guess somebody goofed. "
