If you cut off the phoenix.zhtml crap, the base url redirects to http://www.ccbn.com/
It seems like the company does investor relations,
hence the corporate-ir (investor relations)
I wouldn't worry too much about this, if its good enough for EarthLink its good enough for me
btw- how did you convince /. not to display the site's domain name after the link in your post?
same link but /. inserts domain name

Apple's 10-K
I'm an Apple shareholder, and one fine day on the shitter I was reading their 10-K (annual SEC filing), and noticed this interesting quote on page 6, under "PATENTS, TRADEMARKS, COPYRIGHTS AND LICENSES":
The Company currently holds rights to patents and copyrights relating to certain aspects of its computer systems, peripheral systems, and software. [...] Although the Company believes the ownership of such patents, copyrights, and trademarks is an important factor in its business and that its success does depend in part on the ownership thereof, the Company relies primarily on the innovative skills, technical competence, and marketing abilities of its personnel.
I thought that was an interesting thing to write, I wonder what, say, Amazon or Microsoft say in their filings about patents?
If anything comes of this patent (I doubt anything will, despite the sensationalist
/. headline), you can use that in your letters to Apple or something. -
Re:Before getting carried away...
you'll have to correct me if I'm wrong, but from how I read it, it states:
Cash and cash equivalents $72,459,166 down from $109,989,741 a year ago. They started those quarters with $85,212,830 in 2001 and $248,429,962 in 2000.
and Total current assets are $144,055,087 down from $179,681,174 a year ago.
and posted a Net loss of $27,559,775 vs $17,422,183 a year ago. Thus a 59% increase in net loss. Of course, once you "adjust it" they're breaking even, but that's cheating.
So unless I'm reading it wrong, that's how I see it. -
Re:Before getting carried away...
yeah I noticed that too. Their rate of loss is 59% higher than that of 2nd quarter 2000. Their cash reserves are also drying up pretty quickly. Kinda sucks, but unless IBM gives another huge cash infusion I don't think that they have much time left.
check it out for yourself. -
RedHat Profit
Does anyone know where the most recent financial statements are available for RedHat? I just went to the SEC and RedHat's investor relations and all I found was this link to the 10-k issued in April.
According to those statements Redhat is still running a major loss and reducing their cash balance. However none of those numbers match RedHat's press release so I have to believe that the SEC doesn't have an updated report on file yet. The major issue I have is that I want to see the impact of the Operating cash flow alone. If the core business is not profitable then they have just been making money by investing in marketable securities. -
