Re: Uber need to get a clue.
> Today we have GPS and navigation apps with real time traffic information.
And today we have guys driving cars into subway tunnels and getting stuck on the tracks when following their GPS...
http://www.citynews.ca/2017/02...Another scarey situation is in the province of British Columbia, on the west coast of Canada. There are quite a few towns/cities on islands off the coast. The Ferry system is considered part of the highway system. In evenings or foggy conditions, people have literally driven off the ferry dock into the water. They didn't know they were supposed to wait for the ferry to come along first.
I'll pay for a knowledgable taxi driver, thank you.

Re:Address? Nothing to address, we're told.
Here's your answer*:

*Spoiler: It's not because of climate change!
Please don't offend my intelligence.
Despite a mild winter which saw Ontarians conserve electricity, hydro rates are set to increase next month because we saved too much energy.
Typical socialist propaganda: blame the society.
It happened because the climate change hysteria made the Ontario Liberals to cut off all sources of cheaper electricity, what's why.
It happened because the climate change hysteria made the Ontario Liberals to make us to rely on non-manageable generators of expensive electricity without any ability to store it, what's why. -

Did you watch the video?
Within the first 2 minutes I can see the following two things I consider dangerous:
- They reduced his visibility by activating the wipers and windshield washer
- They cut off the engine while he's on a busy highwayHere's a sample of what happens when you stop on the highway:
http://www.citynews.ca/2007/12...Just recently there was an emergency vehicle with lights on that was hit while on the shoulder.

Re:This is a sad trend
So true!
If the masses demonstrate/riot with a strong message, they're classified as hooligan terrorists...but if it's a group with an impotent message...then that's ok...even when they're performing illegal acts like blocking a major highway.

Re:depends
$450 per month for insurance is obscene anywhere. The highest average car insurance anywhere in Canada is only $1,400 annually in British Columbia. (Source: CityNews.) You're talking about almost four times that.

Re:Sharing = Crime
Actually in my area, we had a dollar store accidentally open before it was supposed to actually open -- namely, it was unlocked.
For whatever reason it got advertised that was the grand opening, yet no employees were there, since it wasn't supposed to actually open that day.
People showed up, went inside, shopped around, realized there was no one there to sell them their stuff, so they put everything back and left.

Re:You know...

Oh yeah, in Canada. They'd never get a bylaw through that would Ban:
Toys with electric motors
(explain THIS to a powercar kid)
Prohibited: 9pm-7am, and before 9am on Sundays and stat holidays.
Loudspeakers or other amplification devices
Prohibited: 11pm-7am and before 9am on Sundays and stat holidays.
Release or venting of air, steam or other high pressure noise creating material
(But that's when I have all the good fights with my wife!)
Prohibited: 11pm-7am and before 9am on Sundays and stat holidays.
Loading or unpacking containers of materials
(You listening people who move in too late over a weekend?)
Prohibited: 11pm-7am and before 9am on Sundays and stat holidays.
Using any power-driven device Prohibited: 7pm-7am, and before 9am on Sundays and stat holidays.
(Sorry Granny, You have to walk)
Power tools, lawn mowers, (excludes snow blowers)
(WTF, you're ok with Snowblowers which are 10 times as loud, but I can't get cracking on a backyard project on the few days I get free time?)
Prohibited: 9pm-7am and before 9am on Sundays and statutory holidays.
Security alarm running for more than 5 minutes.
(Crooks will LOVE this one)
Prohibited: at all times, seven days a week.
Vehicle repairs
(Sorry hobbyist, you can't work in your garage until everyone's at work. You have a job too? Oh boo-hoo)
Prohibited: 9pm-7am, all day Sunday and statutory holidays.
Playing loud music
Prohibited: 11pm-7am, and before 9am on Sundays and statutory holidays
Now this is how I see it. Most people like me who have projects to do around the house and in the backyard NEED stat holidays to actually get to the projects. I can't believe the government went and snuck this into a completely separate bylaw brought up by old people who hated barking dogs.Yeah, this would NEVER happen in Canada.
