Re:Dirty thieves
Seems to be popular in discrete math. My professor did the same. My university actually has it's own press (OK, it's a bunch of photocopiers with a bunch of binding machines) but they make quite a lot of material available to the students this way. A lot cheaper than textbooks, and again, a lot more relavent to the course. Most of my professors when recommending textbooks (very seldom were they required), would recommend really good books that would be useful later on in our career, and were actually worth the $100 price tag. Even if we didn't realize it at the time.

Re:Realitivity 2.0
With AJAX? Yes, I'm sure that will clean up the mess

AJAX explained...
No need to buy this book. Just consume one of these and you will awake the next morning know how to use javascript and XML in unison to produce yet another del.icios.us clone!

-
AJAX just another name for the same old?

Ajax removes......."removes tough dirt and grease to leave surfaces sparkling clean. Grease cutting formula in a lemon fresh scent".
Yes, I know that Tivo hacking is popular, but leaving behind a lemon scent after cleaning up the dirt and filth that is recorded on a Tivo hard drive is a little weird...even for Slashdot.

For that deep down shine...

Leaves surfaces sparkling clean!
Now you can write your web apps to remove tough dirt and grease and it'll leave your websites sparkling clean! It's grease cutting algorithms even come in a lemon fresh scent!

maybe only on the floor?
depending on the local code, the extension cords might only be restricted from running across the floor because that could be a tripping hazard. It might (again, might) be ok to string the cord up the wall, along the ceiling, and dropping down to the rack. Another option may be getting one of those long (several feet long) rubber covers that go over the cord and provide a small hump to walk over for people in the room. (like these - first hit on google)

When you catch up with the rocket guy
There's some equipment you might need when you catch up with him. For example, this might be useful. And to load him up, you might need one of these. Of course, to be truly prepared, make sure you have access to plenty of these and some of this.

Pentel Twist-EraseI tend to make a lot of mistakes, so my favorite is the Pentel Twist Erase. You can't tell from the picture, but when you twist the top half, the eraser extends out. It is about 1/4 as long as the pencil.
The only trouble is, people rarely need to replace the eraser, so it can be a challenge to find stores that stock them.

Re:Pencil = Good
Pentel used to make a better retractable mechanical pencil, with a nice crosshatched aluminum barrel grip, but sadly they discontinued them.
Could you be referring to this one? This was my favorite in college and I only recently found they were still making them.
