Re:It'll only get worse
The average person's response to this, assuming they even hear about, will be along the lines of "... So?"
And yet, those same nitwits will continue to think that they embody creativity and freedom, even though they toe the corporate line and won't question authority. Hey, they're getting XX G of data for $$, that's all they're worried about. Consumerism is working it's magic.
I'm glad I don't use AT&T and dropped Verizon a few years back. Can't be sure, but I bet CREDO will be very unlikely to do this sort of thing.
CAPTCHA: circus (as in "bread and circuses". what a coincidence.)

Re:CREDO is a left-leaning carrier
Well, they do gloat about defeating 5 Tea Party members in 2012. That means that they spend their money to push their political beliefs into congress and manipulate the american public.

Re:Anonymous Telecom?
My question is, why would the telecom want to remain anonymous? Wouldn't they gain plenty of positive attention from consumers if they showed they were sticking up for their privacy?
Because they're not allowed to identify themselves.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the company is Credo Long Distance/Mobile. More power to them, if you need LD or cell service check them out (they used to be "Working Assets" until they separated the telco stuff from the financial stuff). (They also contribute a percentage of their profits to various causes).

Credo Mobile
Credo Mobile, if they're available in your area, is excellent. They use the Sprint network, so you can get unlimited data for a reasonable price on an older phone... but the customer service is even better than T-Mobile (who I used for years) and Credo's not only friendly to rooting your phone but supports the EFF, among other non-profits, with a portion of their revenue.

Re:What's next? Chime in
I'm disappointed, I wanted cartoons! If anybody else was disappointed at the lack of cartoons in that link, enjoy:
A Farewell salute
The raw, gritty, and absolutely true story of a computer operating system's mascot who overcame unimaginable hardship and went on to become an unparallelled success (maybe he went back to that job he had in that cartoon that no one reads)
You can't trust science
Sparky buys a house (Tomorrow is prescient)
Alan Greenspan (Yikes! Tom Tomorrow has balls of crystal!)
A handy guide to the (2007) housing marketAnd since this is a nerd site: Barack Obama and the Invasion of Time (not a Tomorrow doodle)

Credo Mobile
Apparently they have flat out refused to cooperate with any agency requests for customer information, as well as consistently donating money to the ACLU. They use the Sprint network though. So would Sprint be able to hand over information on Credo Mobile customers? I'm not sure.

Credo Mobile... any thoughts?
http://www.credomobile.com/ "Or you can join CREDO Mobile -- which is fighting to expose the administration's illegal spying program and bring all those responsible to justice -- including Bush himself. CREDO Mobile is brought to you by your friends at Working Assets. It's the same great wireless service we've offered for years, with a new name to reflect our commitment to causes we believe in."
