Re:Yeah, but did they play...For a while there, many phone companies started pulling those numbers from the rotation (ie, removing them from service because of all the prank calls those numbers generated).
It is nice to see they are making their way back into the wild.
Now, if you will excuse me, I have some calls to make.

One for China. One for the Rest of the World.
"A different AP article spins things slightly differently, emphasizing that Google is apparently no longer blocked in China and mentioning the selective blocking of web content only in passing."
Those AP people aren't dumb. That first story is likely to be censored by The Great Firewall, whereas this second article might be aimed at actually reaching our Chinese friends.

Custom Computer Systems for Discerning Tastes -
Only HALF of my fellow Americans are idiots??If I'm surprised about anything with this study is that only half of the respondents believe our right to speak freely is too broad.
How does that Benjamin Franklin quote go?
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
Indeed.
And for those of you who have never heard of The Freedom Forum, please take a moment and take a look around. This foundation is certainly a group of good folk doing good work.

Here is a tip:Don't buy from Telcos whose CEO's/CFO's/etc have their pictures' [Grammatical Question: Is this the proper use of the apostrophe in this instance?] plastered on a wall at your local post office.
Certainly, Qwest and Worldcom come to mind... but then again, these 2 are probably the 2 companies you want to get connectivity from if you can. Weird.
Also, if you live anywhere near a city, you shouldn't be paying more than $1000 per month TOTAL for a T-1 nowadays. (including your local loop)
Further, even if you get a T-1 from a big carrier, they will probably just be breaking you off a T from a DS3 anyways... so screw it... go BIG... Get so OC connectivity.
