Games provide interestThe thing about games for me, it's not so much that they teach actual skills as much as they help me get interested in the subject that they're about. A couple examples:
Ever try to read the Silmarillion ? It's full of tons of different names and places and all kinds of stuff, and it can be tough to wade through it. But after playing Angband for a while, so many things were taken from the Silmarillion, when I finally read the book, the names had a familiarity to them as I try to connect them to what I saw in the game, and in the process, the very dry book becomes interesting. And when I played T.o.M.E., the geography of Middle Earth became much more interesting, because I had to navigate it myself in the game.
Another example: Robo Odyssey. This game was written back in 1984, and it teaches the player about logic gates and electronics design. I wish there were a more modern implementation of something similar (anyone out there know of anything similar?) that let you wire with logic gates to solve puzzles, but it really got me interested in doing logic design. I never did beat the game, and it had bugs, but the concept is great for teaching logic and electronic design.

No -- theaters live on popcorn
Your 50% figure for the theater isn't quite right -- it's more like 20% in the early weeks when most people go to see it. The cut gradually rises to ~50% after 5-6 weeks, when the theatre is half-full or less.
From a friend who ran one, the theaters are totally dependant on popcorn and candy to turn a profit, hence the whacko prices. (Popcorn has an even bigger margin than soda.) Here's an overview.
My peeve is that box office totals are never adjusted for inflation, so the term "blockbuster" doesn't mean a whole lot in comparison to a film 20 years ago like Star Wars. On the other hand, the studios have grown much savvier about wringing every last penny out of a film, from product placements to marketing tie-ins to figurines.
I have no doubt LOTR will be a cash cow. It's like the next Star Wars, a tightly threaded trilogy. Or maybe more -- anyone else read the Silmarillion ? (It has been 30 years since I did.) Can you say "prequel"? -
In J.R.R. Tolkiens Own Words
From this link:
From Letter #142:
The Lord of the Rings is of course a fundamentally religious and Catholic work; unconsciously so at first, but consciously in the revision. That is why I have not put in, or have cut out, practically all references to anything like `religion', to cults or practices, in the imaginary world. For the religious element is absorbed into the story and the symbolism. From Letter #269:
With regard to The Lord of the Rings, I cannot claim to be a sufficient theologian to say whether my notion of orcs is heretical or not. I don't fell under any obligation to make my story fit with formalized Christian theology, though I actually intended it to be consonant with Christian thought and belief, which is asserted elsewhere. From Letter #320:
...I think it is true that I owe much of (the character of Galadriel) to Christian and Catholic teaching and imagination about Mary.... -
Re:makes you wonder...I'm not posting anonymously, and am without doubt pro-life. What we fear is the discrimination that most people prefer to utilize when dealing with the pro-life movement. That is to write us off as lunatics, crazies, violent drooling christian hordes of which most of us could hardly be described as.
"the so-called "pro-life" [highly ironic since people have been killed in the "pro-life" battle] movement wants to impose their will on all others. pro-choice does not. "
FYI, Pro-Choicers Are not Innocent in the Violence Issue
Dr. Bruce Steir, Abortionist, Charged With Murder
before you continue basing your opinion in the misconception that the pro-choice side is any less violent to grown-up people (as they are already are encouraging the killing of the unborn from 2 weeks to 9 months).
We here at Anarchists for Life took a stand against violence when we adopted this as part of our faq that "We do not support violence inside or outside of abortion clinics. We do support peaceful protest." We are hardly alone on the issue

Well, if you are looking for small motherboards
Then there are heaps of places. Not all have dual CPU support but still. An article like this seem almost like advertisement. The board is really not that unique.
So, to level that out, here's a few links:
Dual Xeon board at http://www.mycomp-tmc.com/htm/xd6gx.htm
This company has dual CPU's boards and other nifty _really_ small boards at http://www.nexcom.com.tw/
Bunch of small boards at

A _really_ small Pentium board at http://www.cts.com/browse/adlogic/msm p5s.html
Well, that should give an idea and there's lots more out there.
