Re:This Is The Right Question/Answer
Oh, by the way, related to your story: Johnny Cash was once nearly killed by an ostrich.

Re:Some of those look like...
There has been some speculation that Wain’s schizophrenia was caused by toxoplasma gondii—a parasite found in cat’s excreta. Whatever began the illness, Wain was incarcerated in various asylums and mental hospitals for years at a time. The changes to his life were reflected in his art. His paintings of cats took on a radiance and vitality never before seen: the fur sharp and colorful, the eyes brilliant, and a wired sense of unease of disaster about to unfold.
But these paintings look normal compared to the psychedelic fractals and spirals that followed. Though these are beautiful images, startling, stunning, shocking—they suggest a mind that has broken reality down to its atomic level.
Though it is believed that Louis Wain’s paintings followed a direct line towards schizophrenia, it is actually not known in which order Wain painted his pictures. Like his finances, Wain’s mental state was erratic throughout his life, which may explain the changes back and forth between cute and cuddly and abstract and psychedelic. No matter, the are beautiful, kaleidoscopic, disturbing and utterly mesmerizing.

facebook is going for it's cut. 85% apparently
You might have noticed Facebooks promote button recently.
http://dangerousminds.net/comments/facebook_i_want_my_friends_back explains it better than I can
Now when you post something on your wall facebook will only notify 15% of your friends of your post unless you choose to promote it and they want serious money to do so.
As an experiment i posted a link to the dangerous minds story and asked my friends to comment if they saw that post. well that was around 10 hours ago and so far only 1 friend bothered to comment and they posted the link to me in the first place!
You can try your own experiments and see if you can find the reach of your posts. For companies who have built a following on facebook this quite disastrous but if your using facebook to keep in touch with friends and family, good luck with that because facebook isn't letting you do that anymore either if my experiment is anything to go by.

Re:Occupy's One Thing
There's a document that is associated with but not (yet) approved by the Occupy movement that looks quite promising to me. Here is a nicely formatted version of the document. It calls for a General Assembly of delegates in Philadelphia, and lists a Redress of Grievances. There are a few I take issue with and a few I'm on the fence about, but the vast majority of them I see as things that ought to be addressed, and I'm pretty libertarian.
If they really get their shit together, they will be a force to be reckoned with and a very positive agent of change.

Intelligence and Counter Espionage? Why would they be after him? Someone needs to call up Mat Helm and find out.
