Re:IE
Except Firefox addons are not *necessary* to use any commonly accessed websites (AdBlock Plus and NoScript may be desirable, but not necessary).
Try DI.se. It is Swedens largest financial information site (more then a million unique visitors a week, Sweden has nine million inhabitants (toddlers, immigrants and other Swedish illiterals included) and there are only about 24 million people globally who can read Swedish). Many people read DI.se just for the reader comments. You can't do any serious stock trading in Sweden without access to this site. It is made for IE only. Most of the site don't work in Firefox without NoScript turned on (like the comments), some other parts of the site don't work in Firefox without Noscript turned off (like stock quotes and web-TV). So you constantly turn NoScript on and off depending on what parts of the site you want access to. You need AdBlock too, because they have some really nasty advertisers whose code try to do really ugly things with your browser and computer (DI.se don't seem to screen their advertisers at all, they just dump the code into their pages) .
Oh, and the site ONLY works with Internet Explorer (kind of) and Firefox (kind of), no other browser.

Re:Is there any more information on the verdict?
Yes, this is public information. Though it is in Swedish...

Thank Gods that US is slowI live in Sweden. A lot of Swedish websites assume that the visitor has a fast internet connection. A lot of Swedish websites sucks ass. Assuming a fast connection and sucking ass has a 100% correlation.
Yes, I have fast broadband. But those sites still sucks.
(And most Swedish sites are only available with the most recent version of Firefox or the two latest versions of Internet Explorer. Many of them present a blank page if you don't use Firefox or IE.)
This is Swedens most popular website (a news paper).
Go make coffe while it downloads.
Try to increase the font size -- haha!
Try to read an article -- Yes, EVERY page has the same amount of garbage. ALL Swedish news sites has that amount of garbage.
Try to navigate the site without javascript.
Try to look at a video in anything but windows -- No you can't. And some news are only available as videos. Then try Swedens most popular finance site. Yes, all Swedish financial news sites looks and behaves something like that. Try to look at that site on a computer with a small screen, like Eeepc.
This page gives information to potential tourist to my part of Sweden (in English). No, it won't be much faster with a fast connection. It's Web2, you need a faster computer. Yes, it only work with Microsoft Web Core Fonts. No you can't make the text bigger. Last year it was still flash dependent and windows only. And yes, it's government sponsored
And those sites isn't half bad compared to most other sites. And they have actually improved, most of the big sites where totally IE dependent a year ago.
And Swedish web developers looove flash. You can't navigate through half of the sites without it.

Re:Just got a text from the owner/ceo/whateverAs his website says, he is on vacation in Thailand but he will consider doing an interview when he returns. He claims he knows nothing about the rampant fraud/vaporware suspicions all over the internet about this.
Funny, the Swedish Financial Daily (di.se) interviewed the CEO about this laptop today and in this interview he claimed to be on a temporary visit in Sweden.

1-liter houses in Germany? Bah.
In Sweden, experimental 0-liter houses (without heating at all except inhabitants and appliances) have already been built (sorry, Swedish only). Sweden is a bit colder than Germany (have lived in both countries so I have own experience about that one). Go figure. Or maybe we Swedes just tend to be more nerdy and more often have our own Beowulf clusters as heaters.

Re:How interesting...
I don't know about that, the previous owners (the Bonnier media group) voted yes to sell, and so did employees with a large number of shares. The share holders that vote no to sell simply want more money because they feel shortchanged by the suggested price. (in Swedish: di.se)

Re:When I remember Poland..."In Sweden, most people don't pay taxes"
Oh boy, you're so utterly wrong.
Sweden is the most beautiful nation in the world, with the most beautiful women (they all look like Elin, Tiger's girl), and the friendliest people. We're the #1 nation in many respects.
When it comes to taxes, we're #1 too. According to the traditional definition of taxation (sum of taxes as a percentage of the gross national product), the sum of taxes in the year 2002 was the highest in Sweden with 50,6 percent. The EU average was 40,5 percent. Denmark was second highest in the world with a taxation of 49,4 percent using the same definition. (source)
Yes, we're #1 on taxes, and we strive to be #1 in social benefits too. We have not reached the goal, but most people are happy with the taxation level as long as the social benefits match up.
You can read some facts about Swedish taxes in English at Swedish tax authorities web site.
