Murray Peshkin is *NOT* a war criminal
Murray Peshkin does not have to take pride in his work, but he should not feel that he is party to a war crime either
Mr. Peshkin is not a war criminal. America's entrance into World War II ended up saving more lives than had it chosen not to get involved
The war criminals were and are the Japanese, the Germans, the Italians, and those who gave support to them
America's dropping bombs on Japan was not without justifications - it was the japs who attacked the Pearl Harbor first, and the japs were also attacking and invading other countries, from Korea to the North to the strings of pacific islands to the South, and all the way to Burma to the West
Along the way the japs committed atrocities that were so horrible not even the Islamic Terrorists of today could hope to match.
Furthermore, Japan as the aggressor country not only refusing to officially apologize for the crimes they and their ancestors have committed to other people, many of them, including the current Japanese Prime Minister, Shinto Abe, are doing everything they can to whitewash the barbaric acts that their fathers/grandfathers had done.
Before the japanese apologists launch their ad hominem attacks on me, let me include some links to photos documenting the atrocities that were carried out, by none other than the japs -

No, Mr. Peshkin is *NOT* a war criminal!
Thanks to Peshkin and the team which built the bombs, the two bombs that were dropped in Japan successfully halted the japs from perpetrating even more heinous massacres, illustrated by the photos above
We must be fully aware of the scams the japs are busy doing today - maximizing the effect of their 'victim card' while denying everything (and refusing to apologize for) the crimes they did to others

Re:You know... that might not be a bad idea...
I wish they'd get it right for once. Christopher Columbus wasn't looking for "India", he was looking for Hindustan.

Re:stupid
The original story was that he died in some kind of defiant last stand, guns blazing.
Then it turned out there were no guns - he was unarmed.
Then it turned out that he wasn't shot in the head, but "above the neck, and let's leave it at that".
One can't help but wonder if what they really have on those picks looks something like this (NSFW and all that).
Personally I don't care all that much how he got killed (though I think that they should have captured him alive if possible for pragmatical reasons). But this would really help the propaganda efforts of his associates if he died that way.

Re:Call me Crazy...
You do realize most rifles tend to leave clean holes?
Unless he got popped with something
.40 or larger he's still going to be recognizable. Not necessarily - it depends on how close the shot has been. Rifle bullets (esp. FMJ) are small in diameter, yes, but that much kinetic energy can produce very nasty effects.
For example, here is a photo of Chinese execution (back when they did it via bullet to the head), and here (graphic, NSFW!) is the aftermath. As you can see, it pretty much blew off the top of the skull. This was done with a military (i.e. FMJ) 7.62x39mm bullet, which is a far cry from ".40 or larger".
Here is a guy who shot himself in the head from an AK-74 (5.45x39mm). Less impressive - heck, he actually lived - but look at the size of the entry and exit wounds.
As noted above, the pic to which you link is most likely photoshopped.

Re:side effect
Okay. I said ONE OF the most painful ways in nature. First I never claimed it was THE most painful, and secondly I SPECIFICALLY restricted it to natural deaths. Burning to death doesn't count. Very few diseases have such an extended and incredibly torturous gestation.
Again, see what you're doing here? I get where you're coming from, but you're going about it the wrong way. Misinformation doesn't help anyone, particularly the millions who die every year from it.
Unless you've actually seen it happen - you don't know what you're talking about.
Like I said, first-hand experience champ.
One thing I can instantly think of that's likely to match it is a black widow bite.
See, this is what I'm talking about. You suggest that maybe the bite from a black widow is a more painful way to die. I would suggest that the bite from a brown recluse would be far more painful, because it's not a neurotoxin, but a cetotoxin. So the wound slowly gets necrotic until your skin is literally sloughing off in chunks.
That's just off the top of my head.
