Information is key
I was previously against any GMO food, but after learning more about the subject it might not be that bad. I'm not saying GMO is solid, but it certainly is not one sided evil. I think the challenge for both perspectives is real information. Currently it's mostly FUD (on the no side) and Marketspeak (on the yes side).
Information is key.
I can recommend listening to dotnetrocks geek out on GMO here https://www.dotnetrocks.com/?s...
I know .net is not popular around these parts, but the geek outs on dotnetrocks is really cool. Richard is awesome at reading up on specific topics, and that show really has some cool insight into gmo. They even made a followup in may. Also worth listening too. -
For those that are serious about this...
Carl Franklin, co-host of the popular ".NET Rocks!" podcast has a great show about this very subject. http://www.dotnetrocks.com/default.aspx?showNum=768 Don't worry, it's not Microsoft focused. You really should have a listen. He actually went to Washington DC to get involved. That's more than most of us can say.

Re:Virtualpc
I use VMWare because of limitations in VirtualPC, but I heard some insightful and exciting things by Microsoft on DotNetRocks which made me think. Yes, it is pro-Microsoft, but it was candid in saying that the next versions of Virtual Server will not be available until late 2007. I'm really happy just to use VMWare for now, and if Microsoft really do deliver next year I'm really open to take a look.

Re:IT Conversations
i also reccommend IT conversations as well, its what got me hoooked on the podcasting... another couple of shows i catch regulary that are tech related
dotnetrocks - this is great if you code in .net and keep up with MS, they have mastered the audio if you ask me.. i got interviewed on the dallas leg of the roadtrip...
http://www.dotnetrocks.com/
gilmorgang - lots of the future of tech talk kinda jazz, but some of its pretty sharp and accurate, they get some big interviews, can get old and is a bit long at times..
http://gillmorgang.podshow.com/
venture voice - general discussion about the venture capital markets, both people who have received VC funding and people who lend it... lots of entrepreneurs...
http://www.venturevoice.com/
talkcrunch- techcrunch via podcast, lots of web 2.0 guys not that i like the term web 2.0 but i do like all the new sites, and the people behind them...

Re:Paid off?
I was surprised at the quotes they managed to get as well BUT if you look at who produced the show it explains alot- Carl Franklin's PWOP Productions produced the show and I'd say that Carl is one of the only folks, besides Adam Curry, making real money off of podcasting-- he's earning $120k a year in sponsorship for his
.NET Rocks podcast and has been doing podcasts before the word podcast existed.
If you get someone who knows what their doing behind a microphone it's definitely possible to get good quotes from people. :) -
DotNet Rocks and Mondays
okay, maybe it is because I'm a Microsoft shill, but DotNet Rocks is a very entertaining show by a Microsoft Trainer and he has some pretty good guests on there (and some decent music too).
http://www.dotnetrocks.com/
Their spin-off Mondays is more of a non-programmer but still geeky type of off-the-wall content.

Since they have all their shows archived and they podcast, it is easy to d/l a bunch of content for your morning commute. -
Dot Net Rocks featuring Miguel De Icaza
I think it's funny that this gets slashdot front page coverage, but when I submitted a story ~ 1 year ago about Miguel De Icaza's interview on Dot Net Rocks, it was rejected, even though it was right arounf the 1.0 release of MONO, and it may well have been his first 'radio' interview. http://www.dotnetrocks.com/default.aspx?showID=76
