Re:Needs an upgrade
A little effort with target-training or crate-training can housebreak a dog quickly. If you don't want to expend the effort, then you shouldn't have a dog in the first place.
Domestic dogs are bred to be with us, inside our homes. Don't banish them to live outside.

Re:Better solution exists
Right, dissolving CO2 leads to the death of aquatic plants and animals.
Obviously you wouldn't just dump it. Environmental projects like this require EPA studies and laws to mandate monitoring.

Re:diatoms
Makes a spiffy fish tank filtration medium too!

Diatoms: They're more than just for breakfast! -
Already on the market
This DAP is being sold by Drs. Foster and Smith to calm dogs with separation anxiety. It works ok, but better methods are available to help your dog relax.

she copped-out
She didn't have the fish water running through the CPU cooler. I was quite disappointed. She was concerned about detritus in the fish water clogging the water cooling, but a canister filter could take care of that and also serve as the pump.
You'd need a pretty big tank to use up a PCs heat load. Tank heaters might be specified at 4W/gallon but they are on thermostats & don't run continously in heated houses. A radiator and temperature controlled fan after the CPU to keep the water back to the tank from being over warm would fix that. You need to make the tank small enough that the PC at idle at night in winter (assuming set-back HVAC thermostat) will keep it warm enough. You could run folding so you're never idle....
The larger the tank, the longer it will take to see if one component is over or under sized. I just replace the mechanical thermostat on my 400 gallon hot tub with an electronic one & it takes *forever* to calibrate the thermistor probe. -
Two words: Vari Kennel
You're thinking about it backwards, protecting things from two-year-olds is basically impossible. Instead, try this: Vari Kennel These are great: tough, reliable, fairly cheap, widely available, and come in different sizes.

Should petwarehouse.com sue petswarehouse.com?Drs. Foster & Smith seem to have bought out the domain name: petwarehousee.com. Perhaps they should sue novak for sullying their name by association.
(On the bright side, petswarehouse is currently slashdotted).

Re:Minor point
Pardon me for replying to you, but I want this to be near the top, where everyone, especially ROBERT NOVAK, head meatball in charge.
Want to really make him hurt? Just point out that his store really is horrible. Service? Sucks. Price? Sucks! There are much better stores that have better stock, lower prices, and excellent customer service. Two such examples are:
That Pet Place
Drs. Foster & Smith
(Note: I am not affiliated in ANY way with either of those stores mentioned. They had nothing to do with being written here. I put them here. They're not the droids you're looking for. I AM. All of the above is my very own personal opinion, and I stand by it.)
So come get me, big boy! Sue my frigging ass off for enjoying my first ammendment rights. I even live in New York. And I'm bored. It costs me just as much nothing to be sued by you as it does for you to sue me. Let's just frigging GO. =)
