    hmmm. the guys from boycottnovell.com have a live cd for schools, now opensuse community (not liking the boycottnovell guys) add an educational aspect to their distro and blow edu-nix.org away...
    such is politics in the community

    Check out projects like edubuntu, edu-nix.org and the k12ltsp project, also there is the k12opensource group on google and the school-discuss mailing list on schoolforge.net, all of which are populated with folks using FLOSS in education, perhaps not everyone is 'migrating' wholesale, but FLOSS on Windows and Linux is definitely making inroads in education.

    Also, there is EDU-Nix Live CD that includes both a Linux Live CD and also Windows installers for OpenOffice.org and Firefox and a few other programs. The idea is that students can use the live cd and/or install the Free Software on their home (Windows) PC and use the same software at home and at school.
