Droid Swarm Parts List
On a hunch I was looking for a parts list for LED / LCD (Lightboxes / Videowalls) and to develop illuminated dancers. Just add a rocket.

Re:Of course, OSX is rented, not bought.
I think you mean 'Linux'.
Of course, Linux will also power gigantic warrior class mechs fitted with microwave cannons - of course it will. Similarly Linux (if ever you can sum it's parts) will likely support all possible forms of DRM, and why shouldn't it. However at no point will it make TC or DRM mandatory. As Linus said, it is not his concern what people do with Linux, they must however have the choice.
If you don't like Devil fucking with your fun stuff, don't compile him. The choice is simple. Who own's your computer anyway?

Re:It's about Freedom, Stupid...
I couldn't find any COGO links. But then, I searched for COGO in general, and the only suites that came up were DOS and Unix. I can't comment on the quality of the Linux software, as I don't do this stuff. But I wasn't under the impression that Windows was the premier CAD environment (all the CAD and Database guys at work have big Unix workstations).

Re:EfficiencyNo problem:
350W Mains down to 12VDC
500W DC-DCThere are now even telecoms switchers up to 1kW that are up to 91% efficient (OK, so it's not quite mains down to 12V/5V, but still impressive for the power).

But it's still planar
which means (even if they produce a FET version) it's still going to have the terrible electrical characteristics we see in today's transistors. Lots of bleeding and heat in the off state. I'd much rather see people focusing on something like Intel's trigate transistor. While current transistors can handle and 8 or 10 ghz CPU, nothing will dissipate the KWatt or so the chip would dissipate.....
