Re:Let's play the name game...
They're changing their name before they go public. What does this tell prospective investors? It tells them they have a bad image.
Take a look at Valujet. They had serveral crashes and then changed their name to Airtran. Why? Because people associate Valujet with poorly maintained planes that crash. What is Gator known for? Annoying intrusive spyware. Take a look at Claria's website and note how clean and, well, "clear" it is. Again, they're trying to change their image. I hope people who decide to invest in this company keep Gator in mind when looking at Claria. It's the same management running the new company.
On an unrelated note, check out Claria's home page when redirected from their original page. It features a red bubble not seen from claria.com which 404's. Not a very professional sign. -

Re:Me first
So do I. In order to communicate this, I decided to tell Gator themselves, at http://www.gatorcorporation.com/contact/:
Dear Gator,
much as you'd like to you, you cannot purge the language of true claims made by your multitudes of critics.
Even if you were successful in crushing everybody who ever used the word "Spyware" in connection with your er, spyware you can't defeat the underlying fact that plenty of people have a good idea of what your sleazy business practices are about and are keen to communicate this to others.
So we'll all move to "Sleazeware", "Hackware", "TrojanHorseWare" or "Cuntware" - so what? If you want to silence your critics, pick a relatively honest trade like estate agency or something.
Lots of Love,
Mike

Blah
Not only is Gator spyware, but look at the guys that run the show.
It appears they have a rule "either wear glasses, or grow a moustache".
I also note that their site doesn't have a Gator pop-up window. -

Link Toad?As seen in Gator's Web Site Privacy Statement and Terms of Use:
(iii) the link must "point" to the appropriate URL for The Web Site that you in fact link toad not to other pages within any of The Web Sites,
What the heck is a "link toad"? -
what about gator?
isn't gator the one responsible for those dialog boxes appearing when viewing a site which apparently is a dialog box asking you to install some software into your computer? precision time, date manager, and gator ewallet? this tricks many not-so-knowledgeable users into clicking ok, thinking that you must click ok to view that particular site.
so what about gator?
