Re:Bushehr as targetActually I prefer the theory that it went after the centrifuges at Natanz.
On July 17, 2009 WikiLeaks posted a cryptic notice:
Two weeks ago, a source associated with Iran’s nuclear program confidentially told WikiLeaks of a serious, recent, nuclear accident at Natanz. Natanz is the primary location of Iran’s nuclear enrichment program. WikiLeaks had reason to believe the source was credible however contact with this source was lost. WikiLeaks would not normally mention such an incident without additional confirmation, however according to Iranian media and the BBC, today the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, Gholam Reza Aghazadeh, has resigned under mysterious circumstances. According to these reports, the resignation was tendered around 20 days ago.
... and from the same article ...A cross-check with the official Iran Students News Agency archives confirmed the resignation of the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization.
According to official IAEA data, the number of actually operating centrifuges in Natanz shrank around the time of the accident Wikileaks wrote about was reduced substantially

Re:What about lazy initialisation?
That is exactly what GIMP is doing. Plugins are not loaded on startup unless the executable changed since GIMP was last started. Instead the information is taken from the pluginrc file. For even further reduced startup time, try GIMP 2.3 and see my blog entry about GIMP startup time.

Re:NO
Now why is that the fault of GIMP? GIMP does set the appropriate window hint that is telling the window manager that this is a splash screen. It appears that Apple is to be blamed here for delivering a lousy X server.
On a related note, GIMP startup takes about 3 to 5 seconds here. See also http://svenfoo.geekheim.de/index.php/2005-11-05/gi mp-startup-time/ -
First non-cowchip post.
A link to Sven Neumann's blog has more on this.
In fact, it's probably a lot better than any of the other comments, the dead openusability website, or whatever that site may or may not have posted about this. Simply put, it looks like the gimp is merely a project that has been registered by one of the developers to see what or if any good can from from those guys. That's all. No massive throw-in from the collective force of Gimp users and developers.
I've got a ton or respect for the dude (I've fixed far fewer bugs in GNOME bugzilla :) ), but honestly, I've not yet seen OpenUsability do anything worth bragging about. At all. Just a couple of flimsy "ooooh boy this is great KDE is JOINING FORCES with OpenUsability, which is GRATE because everyone KNOWS programmers don't no jack about usability." stories.
Feel free to call me the stop-motion energy guy... I'm just skeptical. -
Re:Skype will kill itself
Skype uses only a technique called "UDP Consistent Translation". The best link I could find for it is http://tim.geekheim.de/archive/000145.html (it is about iChat AV, but the same principle applies).
After the third party helps A and B find each other, it is taken out of the loop.
