    alx_lo writes "Captchas are a nice idea to protect your blog or guestbook from being spammed by robots. But what good is this protection when you can hire "data entry specialists" to solve captchas for $0.60 per hour for 50 hours a week? Anyone here who can think up a solution that does not include drastically changing the global economy? How about captchas that require cultural background knowledge to solve?"

After looking around a bit and finding the sandbox testing, I realized this is not a gimmick. Reverse engineering used to be a service one had to look for at length, and now there's companies offering it hoping to get on the Google top 10. Obviously - they aren't afraid of lawsuits or police action. If Zend and Source Guardian are so easily broken, are PHP developers wasting their time? Should companies selling scripts just open source them now so they have some control over what seems to be the inevitable release of their code? And what happens when vulnerabilities in popular PHP based billing applications that rely on security via obscurity are found from released decoded source?"

So, I've been looking into sites like Get a Freelancer and ScriptLance. Does anybody have any experience of these types of sites? Specifically, I'd like to hear your recommendations and advice, as well as your experiences. My concerns include: getting very poor quality work; communication and language barriers and also losing control over the work that I've paid for -- if I'm paying for some work, I want it licensed on my own terms."
