My Westinghouse laptop tends to disagree. (Although admittedly it may have been the only model ever made.)

If Tiger is a valid complaint then why is this acceptable:

Global Computer is a subsidiary of Tiger Direct, while Global Computing Inc is a completely different company. They both build computers and have poor service and sell the exact same stuff in the exact same industry. This looks like a valid complaint. However, TD won't claim any damages against Global Computing Inc because there is no money in it. Don't pretend this Tiger suit is about the law when it's about the lawyers.

The PC industry is full of copy-cats. Just look at these two:

They both make crappy computers and have piss-poor service, and sell the exact same stuff in the exact same industry. It would seem this would be a more likely suit for TD. But they won't bother, because they can smell money coming from Apple, and know enough about the PC industry to know there is no profit in it.

DVD burners are cheaper than you think

Problem with your idea is that it's too expensive to have a device in your car to listen to your music on a DVD. If the parts are resonably cheap, they are more than likely not setup to just "plug in" to your car stereo (many people haven't even upgraded beyind the OEM unit in their vehicle!)

What I'd like to see (and I'm sure one exists, although I'll bet it's exensive as hell) is a standard head unit that can read MP3's (and whatever other sound formats) from DVD (either - or +, or both), but not have all the flashy movie playing crap along with it. That would be something I'd be interested in.. :)

Here is a Video over Cat5 device that should work. Or add keyboard and mouse for a few more bucks. Or you could try this 100' VGA cable. I have used their 50' cable to a video projector with great success.

Global Computer comes to mind.

While not a major retailer, Systemax is shipping their new Double X Systems with liquid cooling of not just the CPU, but also the harddrives and GPU. Im saving my pennies for one of these babies cuz theyre not cheap. I only wish they didnt come already case-modded, cuz IMO the whole point of that is to do it yourself.
