Re:Moral stand?
As we speak, the record labels are "eveloping napster clones". Should Napster (rightfully, IMHO) be declared a legal peice of software, they will "already" have their clones ready to market to compete with Napster. In fact, should Napster be declared illegal and shutdown, they would most likely implement this anyway! You won't hear about this now because it would ruin their arguments in court. However, I bet that after this is settled (regardless of the outcome) the record labels are going to come to market with some system of MP3 distribution.
Also, as stated in the introduction of the RIAA filing, "Napster brings about the Death of CDs". Absolutely. CDs ARE DEAD! Take a clue RIAA! You just don't know it yet.
Napster provides easy access to MP3 distribution. MP3 is the next technological music revolution. Just Cassette replaced 8track, and CD replaced cassettes.

Here is the procedure for ...
connecting your LCD:
so you have an LCD but don't have a controller/card for it? Try this:
a) go to http://www.flat-panel.com/
b) find your model of LCD in thier list
c) cross reference that with what kind of video card you want - you have 3 options: ISA, PCI, or ANALOG (analog meaning passthru connector)
This should get you started. I got a sweet panel and card (aka controller) from them for my sweet sweet MP3 Jetta. The Heads Up Display (HUD) didn't come from flat-panel.com though...

Re:Is that monitor transparent?
I would think that the driver would have a video screen to replace the rearview mirror. Have a camera pointed to the rear of the car and have a display in drivers view. Viola!

Re:Drive a *big* and *old* car.
How closed minded you are for being a fellow slashdotter. Eventually we won't have to drive our cars; they'll be vessels that take us where we want to go and we can do what we wish whilst on them. When that happens we will be computing thanks to forward thinking from people like the megacar crew.
I tend to think that you're an older person who can't do more than one thing at a time. I have been car computing safely for years now. Here's the link that demonstrates this:
My Jetta with GPS, DVD, MP3, and Heads up Display
I think you need to be a little more open minded about things. I'm not saying everyone can drivecompute, but some of us certainly can and have with no problems. -
GPS Navigation
I use StreetAtlas 7.o (for windoze ack!) in my Jetta and I haven't had any problems with it. For about $150 it comes with GPS and LCD display. Here's the link if you want to see pictures of it in action... http://prague.hgss.com/mp3jetta.cgi

Re:history
I think it's deeper than that even. I think that each name links to each other name. And not just by category. The rumor is that Marc Ewing and another Red Hat founder were at a bar and over a few drinks they came up with SEVERAL names all linked.
This is what I've put together so far:
Picasso -> Rembrandt = both painters;
Rembrandt -> Colgate = toothpastes;
Colgate -> Vanderbilt = womens' colleges;
Vanderbilt -> Biltmore = both famous hotels in NY; ...
Apollo -> Starbuck = Battlestar Galactica
characters;
Starbuck -> Hedwig = Figure Skating Champions;
Hedwig -> Lorax = Dr. Seuss Characters;
Lorax -> Cartman = ??? not sure... probably something more specific than cartoons though...
