When I was in Scotland last year, a tour guide told me about Scotland's "Freedom to Roam" - he basically said there's no trespassing laws (or words to that effect) so you can wander around the whole country.

A quick Google seems to show that this might not be the case anymore but I remember that as I thought it sounded awesome.

I am reminded of the concersation Londo had with the Technomages in The Geometry of Shadows

The Technomages are leaving while they still can, to the other side of the universe. Londo isn't having any of this and he persuades Sheridan to talk with them. Of course, Sheridan will need someone present who knows about them... and who better than Londo Mollari himself? [...]

Londo turns up and sneakily places a recording device in the office. The concept of "selective editing" (a la Mike Moore ;-) was demonstrated very well in the Babylon 5 episode "Illusion of Truth".

Many mention/imply that the USA is headed in the direction of Orwell's "1984" (perhaps F911 is an example of 1984 techniques in action). However, many are not aware of Orwell's other writings. For example, Notes on Nationalism:

I will claim that Mike Moore does not "lie" per se ... rather Mike edits "creatively" ... May I ask you to read my entire post, consider all the links, especially the Babylon 5 "Illusion of Truth" plot summaries? The DVD is also available. You might also get a kick out of the Orwell aspects.

Funny because it reminds me of a movie I am hearing a tremendous amount of buzz about where Mike Moore teaches the concept of editing out-of-context ... thus, as you say, "stopping certain content from surfacing again"

Disagreeing with America's foreign policy and seeking to change it, responsibly or irresponsibly, is a fundamental right protected by the First Amendment.

Speaking of Tom Baker, a couple of recent links: an mp3 of Tom fooling around with a commercial voiceover that's been circulating on the blogs lately, and another website with some Dr. Who prank calls, comedy skits, and also that aforementioned outtakes mp3.

• Index Generator 2.0 is a freeware Windows-tool which has an easy interface and is fairly powerful too. The website is horrible though :)
• LinkScan 7.2 is a commercial tool for Unix/Windows that has a free evaluation version available. Haven't tried it out, does seem to have loads of features.
• Tree.pl is opensource and therefor easily customizable, but doesn't have too many features standard, so a good basis if you know Perl.

Anybody have any info on this, like the URL for the often mentioned, never revealed, website?

If Geocities pulled it, anybody have a cached copy?
