The DC hardware is comparable to top end PCs
Minus the bottlenecks.
If you want to see the true graphical power of DC, have a look at these screens. All are generated by the DC at a constant 60fps.
In-game character model from Soul Calibur. In-game effects include coloured lighting on the characters (both ambient and from weapon flashes), dynamic shadows, particle weather systems
Dead or Alive 2; Full 3D backdrop, and note the clothing flowing around the bodies.
Shenmue face demos; just wait till you see them animated (individual hair strands move, reflections in the eyeballs, skin streches realistically).

Re:Outperforms everything?
The Nintendo Dolphin, according to Nintendo, will out perform the PSY. Nothing is really known about the Dolphin, that info is expected to be released at Space World 99, in about 15 days. But, the rumored price point is as low as $99, with a more reasonable one being $150. Plus, one of the editors at IGN64 has stated that the Dolphin has something that will "slaughter the competiton". No one but him knows what it is yet, but I like that statement : ).

Re:Console Threat to MS
And after you download those videos, you can take a look at this AWSOME screen shot (severe sarcasm) of the PSY. I tell you, the Dolphin will totally trounce the PSY's butt. Cheaper, more powerful, and great games. Heck, even Square is considering developing for the Dolphin.

Re:Dreaming Dreamcast
And then the Dolphin comes along and kicks the PS2's butt. It'll be cheap, powerful, and have great games. Have you seen the PS2 shots? No, well take a look PS2. Impressive eh? Anyway, I predict that the Dolphin will win this coming console war, with DC in second, and PS2 in last.

I'd buy this chair
If I was going to spend money on a special chair, I'd want one that actually does something, like this chair. That I'd love.

PSX2 featuresPSX2 will have a number of great features that may make it worth the price.
- 100% backward compatible with existing Playstation games
- DVD and CD capable. It may not play DVD movies in its default configuration, but perhaps add-ons will be available.
- Networking capabilities will enable 'Net gaming and may provide a platform for WebTV-type functionality
$500-$700 is expensive for a new game machine that has no software. But for a versatile, powerful platform that can be extended to play DVDs and surf the 'Net and already has thousands of game titles it can run, it's a bargain.
IGN and PSX2 have more info. - 100% backward compatible with existing Playstation games
