    Check out http://imo.im/. It has integration of practically every messaging service, as well as a great and android app.

    Yeah, I too use imo on my Android. Low battery consumption, works quite well.

    To be fair, you could always use imo.im which has (unofficial) Skype support.

    For a cross-platform video chat, you could use something like imo.im. It doesn't have the highest video quality, but it's a simple multi-protocol IM client.
